Yeah I'm gonna stop right here.
It's kinda relevant to the news though, as he had to retire because of conscription, not because he wanted to.

What dream is he talking about? Another dream, or is he simply saying he's retiring for now, because of military service? But if he were to be just on "hold" with his progamer career, he probably wouldn't announce his retirement, right? Or maybe he wants us to know that the job he will be doing in the military won't allow him to play starcraft as theSTC did?
Or maybe he's simply announcing his retirement as an apology to let people know that he missed the event because of those mentioned issues?

There is a ton of flexibility when it comes to entering the military for these gamers, NaDa could have done it a while back but he chose other opportunities such as school and SC2. I'm sad that NaDa is retiring on a foreign team, and one that he never even played for ;_; Good bye NaDa, I hope we see you on ACE leading the SC2 team http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conscription_in_South_KoreaI don't think so. You linked a wiki article and made a statement that has no meaning. I'm confused. "South Korea currently has among the longest military service periods in the world, ranked behind Israel and Singapore. In recent years, there has been pressure from the public demanding either a shortening of the term or a switch to voluntary military service."
South Korea also has an enemy with one of the worlds biggest Armys who they are still legally at war with. If they went to a volunteer military it would cost a lot more for the same combat power. If Nada had good english and does well on test he could become a KATUSA. This offers a better living conditons and what not.

Would he be able to play starcraft in KATUSA?
Hm damn I was thinking nada's non-oral english skills might be better than his speaking, but from wiki it says they need to be fluent ;(

um you realize that south korea's military budget is larger than North koreas entire budget right? unless ur talking about China but I don't think they're technically at war with SK
http://www.iiss.org/publications/strategic-dossiers/north-korean-dossier/north-koreas-weapons-programmes-a-net-asses/the-conventional-military-balance-on-the-kore/
size wise NK technically has more but their using stuff from the 60s http://www.japanfocus.org/-Sangkeun-Lee/3333
anyway this is getting way off topic and I'm not going to waste time debating it. on topic sad for nada and wish him the best.

Umm, North Korea doesn't even come close to having one of the largest militaries...in fact their military is small and they are both poorly trained and poorly armed. South Korea just has to worry about them because, A. They are fucking insane, B. They have nuclear weapons.
