Sad for BW will miss the last reaver going. Glad for sc2 and the future of the game. It needs this influx badly.

No, this is awesome. It will force the Kespa players to play doubly hard to catch up. This means better games overall.

I cannot wait for this, we're finally going to see GOM players vs Kespa players!!!!

Assuming the Kespa pros don't catch up to the current pros within the next month, it's more than likely going to be known SC2 pros in the later stages of the tournament. The current GSL players bring with them an established fan-base that will show up and watch them play (as evidenced by the audience during GSL finals).

They should still work with what they have at the moment and try to combine fan bases, instead you will see the players the current audience comes to see get dominated by either unknowns or players who were pretty terrible in BW. They should either make it a BW player only tourney this time or wait ½ a year with a SC2 OSL, so the BW players will not have to play 2 games at once

At least OGN politely stated this will be the last tournament and will finish it. MBC was just downright mean by cancelling the tournament after they ran their preliminaries.

Doubt any of the kespa players will catch up, gameknowledge wise to the very best sc2 guys untill atleast season 2 of this "OSL".

After that, the advantage the current sc2 player has should be normalized..

If you are OGN and you have potential to run the 2nd biggest SC2 tournament in the world (with location and money its easily posible) on first try why would you pass that up to show inferior play which people wont watch? BW fans wont watch it because its not BW and SC2 fans wont watch it because the play is bad. That leaves you with people who are just fans of players and if they are fans of one player they can show there early round games meshed in with other players so they can become fans of theres as well.

Well, they did talk about opening up OSL during the eSports Transition Conference.

[11:28] For OSL, what happens to players not in KeSPA membership?

Mr. Lee: For my personal opinion would be having KeSPA, GSTL, and amateurs to compete in OSL. I haven't talked this out with Gretech yet, so no details can be given at the moment.

Aww I was looking forward to a hybrid BW/sc2 tournament. Just kidding. This is how SPL should have happened. Would have made the last season more epic.

according to the ELEPHANT mentality the kespa players should be good enough to make all "original" sc2 players look like a circus act by next season right? Or has that whole group of the community that believed the ELEPHANT talk eaten their words already?
Anything worth doing, is worth doing right.

It will be interesting to see consistent performers and even champions of the OSL be knocked out of the prelims by individuals who would barely have scratched the surface. The b-teamers have inherited the premiere Korean league... at least for the time being. No anger from my POV... but I'd imagine BW A-teamers must be seething.
