Not sure about that, most hackers will buy another account and install the updated hack, which would cover the additional policing costs at least. The others will go away making the honest player base happier, meaning more sales for HoTS etc.
Pleanty of financial incentive there, tbh I'm not sure why they don't get out the ban hammer, and not this 1 month ban rubbish, that achieves nothing. Its the same in other games though, eg. BF3 has a huge hacking problem, they just reset stats rather than banning accounts. Must be some court somewhere that doesn't let them?

I see no threads on blizzard forums about hacking issues. Blizzard actually read more their own forum than TL. Someone should post this there to remind them.

I think there is a metric fuckton of European and Asian/Korean hackers as well.
What's unique for NA though are the Deezer / Combat-ex duo though.. One of the most fantastic SC2 stories that showed peoples dedication to the game was Deezer who changed his complete life cycle and sleep schedule after another person in order to stream snipe them. He just glues himself to the screen for days. Apparently he even got a low diamond account in order to snipe destiny when playing on a new account.. Holy moly.

It surprises me that blizzard didnt add a clause saying that accepting the invitation and ticket to WCS, especially when you gain the invite from your ladder-ranking, means that you verify that you haven't used any hacks or whatever to get you that rank, and if it is found out that you were using a hack blizzard can require the money for the ticket back in order to give it to a more deserving player...

The hatered now is already documented in video/text and as you can see the people in the game know this. the one word here is COMPENSATION. You guys are going to make him rich for the rest of his life.

This could potentially be extraordinarily hilarious, like if he were to go there, try to log in for his first match, and find his account banned for maphacking in front of everybody.

He's a hate figure because he cheated in a sporting event. I doubt he'll get any sympathies. You don't get compensation for being a hate figure - sorry. I highly doubt he'll get rich.
This thread should most definitely not be deleted. It's extremely important to highlight hackers and make sure they're banished from the community and future tournaments.
He was top of NA ladder. That's how he got in and he hacked his way up there.
He's illegitimately taking an aspiring pro's spot in a tournament. He's an asshole and deserves anything he gets as long as it doesn't go as far as physical violence.
