You have to provide some kind of evidence/proof (screenshots/replays etc.) if you are going to accuse somebody. Additionally, a supporting comment of what people should be looking for and when will be necessary if you are posting replays/evidence.

It has the added sting of their name coming up in google as someone with questionable ethics. I'd say no, as it's possible that some of these players asked for account leveling (from a hacker). In this case, should we have their name or the leveler's name on the list? In those case, we most likely will never heard of the real player ever again as he won't be able to climb the ladder back by themselves.Though, their account should still be "tagged" as maphacker and get banned. What about in the case of Impa and Lightpwnr where they were part of a clan with provided real names? We are looking for higher level maphackers not diamond etc players. If someone is in GM hacking the chances of being leveled there seem fairly low. So the account gets banned and they just make a new one and continue on. Before you say "but they have to buy another game!" remember that many repeat hackers have done this in the case of Counter-strike and other games.

Once again, we're going through the most obvious/fishy parts of the replays and explaining them.

It has the added sting of their name coming up in google as someone with questionable ethics. Holy shit that's fucking creepy. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if half of the accused map hackers aren't map hacking at all. Looking up their real name and posting it on some kind of hall of shame when you don't even know if it was the person who owns the account who was playing is really creepy. I'm all for posting in game names and try to get them banned by blizzard if and when they're confirmed to a 100% to be hacking. That'll at least put them 60 bucks back and reset their ladder score. Always something. Blizzard seems to be doing a shit job when it comes to banning people though.

Maphacking is hardly a crime. Sure we don't like it. We could argue (though we'd be wrong) that maphacking ruins the "integrity" of our game. Even so ruining the career/reputation of a gamer is orders of magnitude worse than maphacking and TL has done that already to several pro gamers. Please close this thread.

There is literally nothing that kills online competitive gaming faster than cheating. The weak minded and forgiving attitude that many people have is exactly what cheating players exploit to get away with their crimes. You must stop the rot, it means harsh words and tough choices, but if you don't cheat you have nothing to be afraid of.

It's almost impossible to prove that you're not map hacking. Look at the spades thing. None's certain, and nothing spades can say would change that. This ruins his entire credibility in future online tournaments.

Look at dimaga - he cheated in one TSL back in the years and now he can't participate. And he was not hacking, and he was capable to qualify just he didn't have the needed time back then. Spades and all hackers, present and in the past have to be banned at least from any tournaments out there!

It's almost impossible to prove that you're not map hacking. Look at the spades thing. None's certain, and nothing spades can say would change that. This ruins his entire credibility in future online tournaments. Was he not previously found to be cheating in BW? That alone harms his word when trying to defend himself. He ruined his own credibility years ago and now there is a degree of circumstantial evidence suggesting he has cheated in SC2. Unfortunately, in most 'pro gaming' level cheat drama, there are people on both sides jumping to conclusions, it's important to look through that and use sensible judgement. There is no automatic "omg he cheats 100%" light which flashes next to someone's name the moment anything dodgy happens. Most of these situations with 'pro gamers' online are always grey areas. Competitive players rarely use crazy automated cheats like aimbots (obviously no aimbots in SC2, but they're a good example). They use more subtle information based cheats which give them a definitive edge and are very very hard to detect definitively. Smart and objective group analysis is required in such situations and a judgement must be made. The community can't afford to be weak minded or allow their judgement to be clouded when it comes to cheating, it must be eradicated and a clear message must be sent.

Your argument is like "well we shouldn't go around charging ppl with murder cuz u can't prove you DIDNT murder anyone" um...actually yes you can so just stop with this awful argument please. If people like Spades maphack I'm honestly glad their careeres get ruined. Oncce a scumbag always a scumbag imo.
