You have to provide some kind of evidence/proof (screenshots/replays etc.) if you are going to accuse somebody. Additionally, a supporting comment of what people should be looking for and when will be necessary if you are posting replays/evidence.

Blizzard sucks and is too lazy to do anything effective about it, so this thread is the best we can have. As multiple people have pointed out, because of this thread they can remember a hackers username and play more carefully or something, it does help. It's better to get their names out there then to just do nothing .. . .

Yeah, normally against equal skill players it's common to do some risky moves or use deception (like burrowed banelings or hiding tech), but against a maphacker all you really have to do is play safe and win. Knowing who they are makes it easier to deal with them, which at least makes them less of a pain in the ass for people trying to enjoy ladder.

Hackers are sort of known for using barcode usernames, but as anyone will tell you, a lot of high level players also use barcodes. I remember one particular barcode was notorious for changing his portrait from Kachinsky to Hall. You would never know if you were playing against a maphacker or a pro Protoss.

This is true, also If we did some analysis ourselves and think someone hacked, we check this thread as well to see if someone else had suspected him of cheating

They don't ignore hackers, they are simply unable to do anything about the majority of them. Other-wise even if this thread has a name come up a hundred times, it will still accomplish nothing but the awareness this person is hacking. It's illegal to provide evidence for most.

Well it seems like his MMR has tanked a few hundred points since yesterday so it's quite possible that he's stopped hacking to try and save face. He certainly didn't seem to be hacking vs me based on his decision making, but I'll upload the replay anyway. http://drop.sc/284453 All I see is his name during this game: Tragic. ![]()

Server: NA League: 2v2 master 1v1 plat Description: http://drop.sc/284496 First game no blatant hacking just very "lucky". http://drop.sc/284495 Second game very blatant map hack at 10:16ish. First off I know he is only 1v1 plat. Met him in a custom, only reason i'm going to post these is cuz he's on a team with another hacker that got mentioned named zitrone that is 1v1 diamond. He tries very hard to hide that he was hacking which bothers me a lot because these are the people that plague masters 1v1 and this guy was good enough that I know he could have beaten me if i'd made just a few more mistakes and I was 1v1 masters as random when I used to ladder. Not much need to look these over hard, there is no "clear" hacking in the first replay on daybreak but he gets very very lucky several times with positioning and selecting before things come into vision without ever looking at them. This should be watched for the lulls of seeing a hacker get eaten ![]() However in the second replay on Ohana this guy makes a mistake at about 10 min with an observer he doesn't have positioned quiet right he tried to move it in time misses and then follows my banshee through the FOW and warps in about half a second before the banshee comes into vision, so he had absolutely zero reason to do this making it very obvious, when you factor in his absurd luck in both games he is clearly map hacking. This one is also good for a laugh to see him lose yet again ![]() Just editing in a fun fact. His apm is right at 100 in both games. 100 apm + maphacking + protoss = 1v1 plat 2v2 masters. Interesting. I thought with 100 apm as protoss you could atleast be gm with maphacks lol.

<forget the link> but just google it. Whenever i used to test how easy it was I'd encounter "pay for it" or find some back-door torrent and/or suspicious FTP. Now it seems like its like BroodWar...easy access to a undetectable hack. How sad. The irony for me is I do better without hacks...something I learned in BW 10 years ago...my apm goes down watching myself about to die LOL.

I'm glad you'll never be in law enforcement. To understand "wrong doing" you have to see the underlying problem. I.e. how accessible are drugs? Where are they coming from? The same concept applies to smaller atrocities like hacking. I think you are the "idiot" for not seeing how readily available it is for the average consumer. It used to be people paid for it. After that people got it from 3rd party "questionable" back door sites. Now you can download it anywhere. This thread is about awareness. By letting the community know the availability of these hacks puts them on high alert. Your comment is not well thought out and shows your age (or at least experience with this game).
