Many people dislike many different things, but I [think] his over-positive attitude. I'm going to say this but it's not what I mean - he doesn't tell the truth all the time. Not lying, but he gives too much credit, isn't critical enough.
Now, many people love him for this and whatnot. But I think that's one of the things people gripe about.

I'm watching the Incontrol one right now. Holy shit the memories. Zeebots!!! I still have a bunch of those. My favorite ones were the guys who had guns for arms. And one dude had a drill for an arm, he was pretty cool too. And I also had the gorilla alien. He was the one that looked most like the regular movie one. Mario Kart SNES and N64. Street Fighter and Killer Instinct! Warcraft 2! I'm only 18 minutes in. Thanks for sharing those memories and helping me remember mine!

Day[9] asking for donations and money despite making well over $100,000 a year from his streams, casting, youtube channel, etc. (20k a casting gig).

Don't just start throwing numbers out there that you can't be sure of. Day9's nebulous approach to describing his financial situation tends to rub people the wrong way. I (and nobody else) wants exact numbers from him. That would be an inappropriate request, but he should be more clear. He does make a lot of money from his content, but remember, a lot of that money will go back into stuff he produces (e.g. AHGL).

Oh yeah, that league nobody cared about, and helped the community(or the industry, as he likes to call it) in no way. He probably got some sweet contacts off of it so again, cant really blame him.
Also, people do want exact numbers from him.

Whats the day9 thing Idra is talking about? And where is this flak? Can anyone cite a specific reference.

You can't be that transparent. If 2k people watched it, someone DID care

Bravo~! The only question I care to inquire more about is Flash's medication(s) and Idra's opinions on medications for anxiety/depression for competitive professionals!
I am neutral as a blade now-a-days with Citalopram. SCIENCE!

This was a great episode, hope you keep it up. I've done some interviews for research asking people about their upbringing and StarCraft and its actually a pretty interesting topic and adds a lot of personality to each community member and player. Hope to see more of it.

This show is really great; asks questions most of us didn't know the answers to and really hard to answer questions.
Great job JP! This is what we as a community have been as asking for!

there is definitely some truth to the day9 persona issue, if people like idra and 2GD who on completely unrelated in the sc2 community share the same sentiment

He's doing stuff for the community. If it doesn't catch on.... oh well. He can try something new. That doesn't mean it's unjustified.
And by "nobody wants exact numbers from him," I meant nobody worth speaking with. Anyone begging for those numbers (which I assume includes yourself) can continue to whine all you/they want. That sort of request only shows the lacking understanding of ethics. He's not going to release that information, and nobody relevant would ever ask that of him or anybody in the community.

Fantastic show, this is what you are meant to do JP, please please PLEASE keep this up!

I groaned at the mention of progamer spacesuits. They were long, long gone by the time Idra made it to Korea.

Actually, Idra directly contradicts 2GD - he points out that day9's a great person, while 2GD thinks he's an ass of a prima donna.

Thanks for the show, JP! Hope you get Stephano on the show soon, I am most interested in his story lol.

Loved the show and personally would like to hear from NonY or... maybe HuK or Sheth? Will watch basically anyone though!
|
Surprised he went to a Kalamazoo, MI high school. I've lived in West Michigan and hit Kalamazoo pretty often, its not amazing but the idea of bullet holes in the walls seems strange to me.

Looking forward to some good content I can listen to as I work, thanks a bunch
