No such thing as disrespect, they are different games.
Tournaments ran both versions of Counterstrike at the same time too.

Forget all the tension between BW and SC2, whether real or perceived. At least from the SC2 side, I think a lot of us will welcome the BW players with open arms - ESPECIALLY because we want to see how they fare against our current SC2 pros.
Regardless of which side you fall on in the debate (i.e. BW pros will destroy SC2 pros, or vice versa), I think we all want to see what will happen so we can (begin) to settle the argument 
In summary: MLG Anaheim needs to have some BW pros vs. SC2 pros competition in Starcraft 2 - and it must be vanilla SC2 (Wings of Liberty). If they play HotS, that will prove nothing at the moment. I don't care whether it's relegated to showmatches or an exhibition tourney, but as long as we get one of the true top "elephants" facing off in regular SC2 conditions against a decent SC2 pro-level player (so that we can form some rough estimations of their current skill level), I will be satisfied

If the bw pros come here and lose, it doesn't kill the elephant, as the bw pros are just starting to adjust to SC2, we need to wait at least another 6 months of bw pros playing GSL/ foreigner tournaments before we can say whether or not the elephant is truly in the room.
On the bright side, here is to hoping that this will be a great event, with or with out bw pros competing.

IIRC, it was announced that there will be a SC2 related announcement regarding MLG Anaheim coming in approx 39 min (6PM PDT).
P.S. I think MLG needs to have a little fun with mocking/joking about how they're following iNcontrol's lead with making announcements about announcements

it's not regarding SC2. However, there are still the biggest of sc2 announcements to come.

Eh, I think MLG changed their minds and decided to announce that announcement early in the form of HotS at MLG Anaheim.
