There are not only darker, but also desaturation, anti-aliasing, bloom, and other graphic filters.
My favourite is color desaturation, that makes game more realistic and great. Here are more screenshots with 30% increased gamma brightness (in game options), but with that mod. No sharpeness, but with color desaturation.
Whoa whoa whoa. Someone needs a reality check. Real Isn't Brown. The real world actually has some pretty vibrant colors in it.

Honestly I don't like it. SC2 is plenty dark, and Diablo 3 is dark enough as well. The thing about D3 is that when you look at screenshots it looks too bright, but when you're actually playing it and watching it in motion and can clearly see the fog and other atmospheric effects the game is definitely dark and gritty enough. At least on high settings? yes, but you can revert dark brightness by increasing it ingame options.

Again, I have no idea what you mean by "realistic" colors. Brown is not realistic.
Seriously, go outside. There's tons of color out there.

It looks good on the metallic surfaces but no so good on everything else.

Lol funny example, I can garantuee you that the author edited that first pic on his computer to increase its saturation... so much that it actually does look a bit unrealistic, unlike your 3rd example (2nd not working)

I thought that aswell, but the sunrise/set looks pretty consistant with what i see here and honestly, i've never personally been to the jungle so i can't comment on how vibrant the vegetation is there. Definitly does look altered though. Last two photos aren't so compeling on how vibrant colors are at all.

I dunno I just googled Amazon Jungle and that's what I got. The others are shanghai, niagara falls, and an airplane.
And though the last few pictures are not as vibrant, they have way more color than the brownfest on the previous page.

Why would you want sc2 to be darker when it's far too darker already.
|
what about as light as warcraft III?
|
Yes, lets make it even darker so it looks even worse when youre forced to watch <480p because you dont want to pay 10$ to support #ESPORTS

its an interesting mod, and I'd love for a full mod to be done to make sc2 look less cartoony and colourful, but this just looks like a desaturator and dsnt look so good in my opinion

looks pretty cool! will give it a try For those people it doesn't look good - it's a matter of preference. Hell some people even installed dark protoss mod which doesn't give any advantage at all to the game but it looks pretty bad ass.
As for me, I really like to experiment with bunch of things such as colors and mods just to make the game look more fresh and genuine.
So stop bashing OP's idea and just let it go...

why would anyone want to do this? the only thing that i might consider would be more colorful backgrounds(yellowish), lots of backgrounds have a blue hue and this is horrible considering that a player can spawn as blue. It makes stuff harder to see for the eyes and therefore you get tired faster.

Yeah just what gaming needs more brown fake grimdark games
|
...And here I am adjusting my gamma to make the screen brighter!
