*OBVIOUS SPOILERS FOR RECENT MATCHES*
Hi everyone, I compiled this list myself, and during the LR thread I posted this list, which generated a lot of discussion. This is probably something that deserves to be on Liquipedia more than TL, but I feel it has enough content. Will always be updating this.

very good work, thx for the stats.
But it seems like it has no real order, it would be good, if you could arrange it alphabetical
Edit: I just understood your order, but everyone could find his favourite player faster when it was alphabetical^^

It appears to be arranged most wins to least.
Good job OP.

Interesting, but unsurprising note, only Idra and QXC have winning records.
|
I think the first like, four seasons of GSL shouldn't even be counted at this point. I know we're still in a huge state of development; a lot more than some people would agree with, but I really don't think for anyone those wins are relevant anymore.

It's a historical record, not a matter of relevance.

I think it'd be interesting to see the win/loss ratio per GSL season.

Not that bad after all...

It would be great to see also records in BoX series

Do you have their records vs individual players?
If it's too much work to add it then forget it
|
If we add this to the wiki we should make the opponents visible behind a spoiler Also, we may should add a second list where only matches gaainst koreans are counted?
Great job doing this list!

Damn, all the EU players have winning rec- OWAIT. And IdrA sure looks like he is outclass- WAITAMINUTE.
It'd be really great if more people went over through. I'm sure Thorzain and Dimaga could improve their records substantially.

it's not gsl open season anymore.

IMFenix is completely off the radar since he joined IM. I didn't know he even participated in GSL

As some people suggested, I now have each match in spoilers. Hooray for more detail.

The only one that's positive is IdrA, heh.

Nice stats, hoping to see the record turn positive over the next few seasons though.

apparently idra and qxc are the best foreigners as they are the only ones with positive overall stats lololol

Good job !

wow IdrA with the only positive record in GSL o_O
EDIT: Oh and QXC lol

Updated after today's unfortunate results.
We need a hero.

No foreigners get past Ro8. Let's call it "The Foreigner Barrier". The Foreigner Barrier: Will Stephano break it?

That's awesome. That's why idra left when he did

This settles it. qxc is simply too good.

Interesting, making Idra the only with a positive record O_O Edit: except for qxc

Where has qxc even been? I miss seeing him play in tournaments. Back in 2010 he was really exciting to watch. Especially that one game, I believe it was an MLG, where he shot off a HSM against idra on Xel'naga caverns and won a game where he was behind the entire time.

hm wait a second, if artosis had that game registered, shouldn't deathangel also have his games registered here? he went for 2 finals in code a qualifiers or something

Artosis actually qualified for, and played in, the first GSL. Watch the games, they're hilarious.

they made it through GSL qualifiers, same thing

While it's not "real" GSL, I think Arena of Legends should be considered too - HuK and NaNi played in it! And if you want to be totally complete, those showmatches played a while ago, if I remember correctly both Jinro and Huk played in those too.
(Huk went 1-4 in AoL1, won 1-0 against NesTea, Nani went 2-2 in AoL1, Jinro won 1-0 against Fruitdealer)
Nice work though!

QXC undefeated in GSL vs Mvp? What a beast.

the moment you realize someone like ensnare has a similar record to Huk...

Nice work though! I didn't count those purposely. The showmatches were for fun, and AOL is...since they're not even in the GSL studio for those I find it hard to count them.

As unlikely as it was a few months ago, with Kespa's transition I'm afraid it will be almost impossible. As long as GSL keeps handing out welfare seeds to foreigners though, there will always be a remote chance, but getting through the Code A qualifiers, Code A, and Code S? Literally 0% chance and I'd bet everything I own on it.

There's a typo in Idra's record, it says Choa instead of Choya.
Unless there is a player called Choa I've never heard of and I'm just being stupid.

Yeah too many foreigners play such a predictable style and that leaves them open to cheese. Look at Mana today who lost both games today to 1-1-1 =[

Indeed. I'm always hoping for the foriegners and also have always taken a devoutly anti-loxodontus stance... However the results of the Kespa players lately is truly shaking my faith. Like... They're legitimately starting to live up to the hype... The esports fan in me is terrified, which is pretty cool. Things haven't been this exciting since the first foriegner vs Korea matches. Last year.

As long as GSL keeps handing out welfare seeds to foreigners though, there will always be a remote chance, but getting through the Code A qualifiers, Code A, and Code S? Literally 0% chance and I'd bet everything I own on it. Not even a Korean has been able to get through qualifiers, Code A and Code S to win it all, since there are no royal roaders (although a couple players have a chance right now). But let's ask about remote chances. What will happen first: foreigner in GSL finals or all Kespa GSL finals? All Kespa definitely. Wouldn't be surprised to see a Kespa vs Kespa finals in the next season tbh. Rain looks to be the best Protoss on the planet already and definitely has a very good shot at winning this GSL. So yea, the latter by far. Only problem i have with calling rain the best protoss on the planet is every once in a while a protoss comes around and he just obliterates everyone in every tournament, then he reaches the later part of the tournament and just kinda loses steam. it has happened SO many times in sc2 so i'm holding back on calling him the best protoss in the world for a bit. Yah... He hasn't had time really to be figured out. If he does this for long enough for people to be able to study more of his playstyle then it will be even more impressive. People were saying this about Parting and, while still a boss he's not quite lived up to it. Still Rain seems legit good in all three matchups, impressive indeed. How good was the guy in BW? this is one of the biggest examples i have. people thought he was going to win gsl easily and he ended up getting stopped in the ro8 By that season's champion no less

Rookie of the year, rising star. Was the ace player for SKT T1 in the hybrid proleague. In BW terms, he was a solid A-teamer with flashes of brilliance.

Great info! thanks for putting this out there!

How good was the guy in BW? this is one of the biggest examples i have. people thought he was going to win gsl easily and he ended up getting stopped in the ro8 I think the biggest difference is that Parting was strongest at a time where Protoss users were "figuring out" their race by leaps and bounds. Fast 3 Nexus builds, immortal all-ins, Double Gas with 2 probes in each, Sentry/Stalker/Colossus timings... These build orders seemed to come around the time Parting was extremely dominant (or Parting came to the scene when these build orders were prevalent). Rain hasn't really done anything "new," and I think that's an important difference because "figuring him out" is a lot more difficult when all he brings is extremely solid play, nothing completely new or revolutionary.

Parting is by far the best Protoss, but Rain from Kespa might take it from him

This just confirms my belief that qxc is the greatest non-Korean Starcraft player of all time.

Wow only two players have gone positive Idra and QXC just goes to show how thought this league is.

|
So in conclusion, Idra is the best foreigner in history of SC2.

John Lennon Toto Destroyer Bandana Terran fighting

Most of you have no idea what your talking about the best Protoss are: Seed, MC, and Squirtle

Toto Destroyer. Enough said.
If qxc didn't have university and focused solely on SCII, he would've been up there with Naniwa before Naniwa got knocked out.
