I could give two shits how many a stream on TL brings up, IT HAS NOTHING ON SOMETHING LIKE THIS. The fact that you would even try to use that as a basis of an arguement just shows uninformed and frankly deluded you are. Oh, so now interviews are fake? Yeah of course they're not going to saythey plays for the money, but that doesn't mean they aren't telling the truth. Have you actually read their interviews, or looked at their words? Hint: It's not just, "I play SC BW because it's fun." Here's a recent one with Stork. Throughout the interview he talks about how he grew up watching and playing the game, desperately wanting to be a progamer like the big names at the time. He talks about how his rivalry with the other great players is the drive the makes him try to be the best at BW, and son. Why don't you actually read it before you dismiss it as bullshit. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=322739 And really? You're going to call me out on that? Do you know how many hours of SC2 I've watched? Do you know how many GSL tickets I've purchased, or how many streams I've watched for hours on end? Do you know how many times I've stayed up all night just to see a match get played? No you don't, so don't fucking accuse me of stuff when you have no idea what you're talking about. I've been following SC2 from the Beta up until now and I've probably watched over 500 hours of SC2 altogether, if not much more. It's hard to keep count when you get to amounts that high spread over such a time. And you know what, of these 4900 posts or whatever, probably a good 3000 of them are SC2 related. SC2 is actually what brought me onto to TL. Before the game was the released I hadn't watched a proffesional BW series in over 5 years and hadn't played the game for even longer. And come on SC2 has been out for two years now, and it has had the 10+ years of BW expierence to build off. If it's still in it's "infant" stages, then it shouldn't be considered an esport. Fact is Blizzard had plenty of chances to make it great, and they botched it. If BW dies in a year, then alright. I'll say my goodbyes. I'm not deluding myself or anything, I know how it is. But that doesn't give you the right to just come in here and make up bullshit. Frankly, if they're actually considering to shut down BW entirely that means BW isn't doing that well, because they aren't stupid to the extreme of shutting down a league that's still popular.

I don't really like the suggestion of scrapping BW altogether considering its status and legacy in Korea. There's still a significant fan base in Korea to warrant the continuation of Proleague. I doubt that it will be the case for ditching BW just like that, it seems like potential political suicide. Though there's probably more to it than what meets the eyes from behind the scenes for BW. After all: three professional teams disbanded, OSL is struggling to find a sponsor, MSL is outright dead, match fixing scandal hit the scene hard a few years ago and BW fans are slowly declining (growth has probably stagnated). I don't like to use the term "dying" because it hasn't hit that point yet, but it certainly isn't what it used to be with all that has happened. Now, what consequences will SC2 being played in Proleague will have? For one it'll probably help the SC2 scene grow in Korea more, being broadcasted on television and all. It'll compete against LoL so it won't start to grow a large foothold in Korea where it'll be impossible to take down. Suddenly the Korean scene it will be standard to have salary and experienced BW players (A-Team or B-Team). And then there's star players that could transition over like Flash, Jaedong, Stork and Bisu. My problem with the whole transition of BW progamers is that all the current progamers we know in the GSL could be relegated into the abyss of unknown. Flash and Jaedong will dominate just as hard as ever (assuming SC2 is still not volatile as fuck) and all the money will belong to the upper throng of progamers. The foreign scene will NOT stand a chance if they decided to fly BW pros over (not like they are putting up much of a fight for championship usually already).

By this logic, we'd better all switch over to oil rush since it was released after sc2, has better graphics and is easier to play. Or maybe we should wait for the next command and conquer Sure, how about in 10 years? Stop acting like BW is anything close to being recent, you could probably play it on a ps1. And LOL at people comparing real sports like baseball to a video game. idk if you noticed but graphics dont change in real life. Its not because the game is boring, its because its way out dated to the point that it looks like crap. Also i dont know why everybody is obssessed with koreans, or think everything koreans do is funny. Ive yet to see a korean act like a man, most just act like 12 year olds listening to kpop and watching anime. Sorry i dont find being immature funny. Its a wonder that place still exist with the real korea up north. User was temp banned for this post.

OGN already has broadcasted sc2 (in WCG), and probably are happy to work with blizzard. Kespa still has to speak on the matter, as far as I know. Kespa is what actually matters in negotiations.

I really want Kespa's presence in anything e-sports (I hate that word) related, more strict rules for the teams/players under a unique and regulated organism would do wonders for the game, just like it did with BW.

As long as they keep them in separate tournaments, I'm perfectly fine with both SC2 and BW having a presence in the next Proleague season. But having them in alternating sets? Most fucking retarded idea ever, and I pray that KeSPA doesn't seriously consider this (currently rumoured) idea.

Read it, and try to avoid being so incredibly ignorant, arrogant and insulting in future. You demonstrated absolutely SUPERBLY, why many of us BW guys are seen as hopeless flag-waving fanboys, living in the past. Incredible that newcomers could think so low of us, and assume us to be so stupid and so naive. I hate that this is the majority's opinion on our community, whilst SC2 would happily be forced up even on our still warm ashes. Will you jump in my grave so quickly?

BW has been around longer yes, but it is currently and in my opinion will and should always be present in the competitive scene. It's a different game. You'll find dozens of threads explaining and discussing this all over TL. Please do some research before you make stupidly obtuse statements on subjects you have no informational basis to comment on. Before the whole KeSPA/Blizz spat they were planning on incorporating SC2 in anyway, OGN had it's casters completely learn the game for when the time came. (They talked about it on some show I forget the name of)
