He cares far more about winning than being an entertainer or being a loving personality... and yet he had no problem honoring the agreement that Stephano promoted. Are you forgetting that Stephano is the one who set this all up? And then he backed out. Perhaps winning is more important than having a large fan base in the end, but how many ridiculous issues has Stephano been the cause of? Illegally signing multiple contracts, entering simultaneous tournaments and then not following through on them, dodging team matches and letting down Millenium, dodging showmatches that he goes out of his way to promote with big talk, etc. It's hard to ignore every despicable thing that he's done. Sure, he's a fantastic player, but I'm not a fan of his personality.

If you're hell bent on holding the players up to literal interpretations of a casual twitter exchange then there's just no reasoning with you. You've all proved the community wants this, so now some organization needs to make it happen (likely for a more reasonable prize pool though..). Maybe Naniwa's stubborn enough to follow through, but gambling 5 grand on their salaries doesn't sound too smart to me.

Man people take everything way too seriously around here. I interpret Naniwa as the type of person who doesn't care about popularity/fans of his personality/stream but instead cares about being the best player he can be (from the comments he made after leaving Complexity). And by being the best is the way he wants to earn his fans, not by being some sort of entertainer. Stephano, on the other hand, seems to have a very clear plan for his life. He wants to earn as much money as he can through gaming and then quit while he's ahead. If I recall correctly, when he was on State of the Game he implied that he doesn't care about being the best as long as he's able to make money by playing and winning tournaments. And yes, Stephano has failed to fulfill commitments here and there, but I really don't think he cares about the implications. In short, I think neither player cares but at the same time they do. Kinda like fans are merely a byproduct of accomplishing their goals.

Please explain to me how I trash Stephano in every possible thread. I am not a fan of either of these players really and all I have said is that it is lame to dodge. If Naniwa was the one dodging here I would be all over him too. Yes in the past I have trashed Stephano but I couldn't care less about him now and this is the only Stephano related topic I have bothered with in a long while. My only problem here is that I think dodging is really dumb and it annoys me when people try to make excuses for others that dodge. It is really funny that pretty much every Stephano fan knows who I am though. I'm flattered. :3

I made a pretty big fuck-up in one thread about facts relating to Stephano and am now labelled a Stephano-"hater" too. I'm probably also what you'd call a Stephano fan, as well. And I've never heard of you before ![]()

I think it would be more apt to say he cares about what people think of his skill, otherwise i am pretty sure he doesn't care that much.

LOL Fucking awesome ^^ At this point in time I barely even care who wins if they end up playing the match (although I hope Naniwa wins, just because that would be a fitting end). The fact that it was delayed this long by Stephano speaks volumes already.
