So anyone doubting his ability has a rude awakening coming. Yeah and FruitDealer is 8th... Your argument is invalid. Sjow has won more than one tournament outside the beta, your argument is dogshit. He's actually won a ton of tournaments, as you'd know if you clicked Liquipedia. Oh, and what is MY argument exactly? I was pointing out how bad his argument of "earned alot of money - must be good" was. So, now please explain to me what my argument was now again? If you earned that much money outside of winning the GSL you've won quite a number of tournaments. Usually this means you're pretty damn good. Hardly. IPL4 will give 100k in prizes, Stephano got like 70 or 80k from IPL3 - MLG was giving 5k per event last season except for the final. Polt got 100k off GSL Super tournament. Prize winnings is a terrible metric for how good someone is. For reference, sjow is ELO Rank: 51st in TLPD international. What? Stephano got 30k from IPL3. Thats not even close to 80k. Sjow participated in a lot of event and i think his prize winnings can tell you something about his skill. (his whole winnings don't come from one event).

Well I never liked Sjow that much, but I hope he gets a new team.

Sad to see to be honest, since he seems to be a nice guy. But his results have not been the best for quite some time now... On the other hand, Dignitas should start hiring again, SeleCt is pretty good, Killer is a good Zerg, and Bling up and coming, but I am not sure that´s enough to compete with the likes of Mouz, Empire, EG, Liquid etc...

it's kinda wierd to think that probably a year ago, when i thought of Dignitas, it was the names Naniwa, SelecT and Sjow-- now SelecT is only one of those three guys still with the team =\

Didn't even know what race he played till I checked, guess he isn't one of the more well known ones.

He is one of the few foreigners that managed to win in code A. He has had some pretty dominant wins, first and foremost his IEM-win. But that's a long time ago and he seems to have faded since then, only showing glimpses once in a while.
He was along with Jinro my first favorite player. I guess I jinxed them both.
Dear curse: Hands off Thorzain!

Dignitas have most likely noticed that the goalposts have moved a lot in Sc2 since they picked up their core roster over a year ago and much like Fnatic are clearing out players who are in decline and replacing them with players on an upward trend.
Sjow is a solid Terran players but his results in the second half of 2011 weren't anything like as good as his results in early 2011 and 2010.
I think most people wouldn't rank Sjow as being in the top 20 foreign players right now so the chances of him posting major LAN results (like a top 4 IEM or top 8 MLG/DH/IPL) aren't so good with Koreans in attendance.
A lot of it also comes down to how much Sjow was asking for from Dignitas.

=( GL finding a new home SjoW! Power to you!

Guess you have missed MLG Raleigh.

I am sure a good team will pick Sjow up. He is really good. What I am more worried about is the Starcraft roster of Dignitas... I hope some new players join soon.

Merz and Bischu, merz overall being pretty good aswell and Bischu is a beast in teamleagues it seems, having done all-kills in IPL TAC. Also killer is pretty good. Although, They have dream and tandongho, who I think could really be incredible in the future, those 2 seems somewhat inactive, but they have potential.

When people talk about Sjow not having the best results lately, I think people need to remember that it applies to all foreigners. Once the Koreans entered the scene, only a few players have been able to keep up. Since Naniwa left Dignitas, Sjow has still had the best results out of everyone in the team, even if people may consider Select the better player overall. I have doubt in my mind that Dignitas would have wanted to keep Sjow in their roster.
It must have come down to them not being able to afford him, and other teams probably having better deals.

he's still the only swede besides Jinro who got through the 1st Round of Code A

Pretty much this. If you choose to just look solely at his earnings ranking and not the information that is RIGHT FUCKING THERE ON THE PAGE then your argument is pretty much horseshit. You can't just say "oh well that's all I was talking about!", it's like deliberate sodding ignorance. The guy who originally posted was making the assumption that people wouldn't be dumbasses and actually take into account ALL the information that was right there available, rather than just say "herpderp, fruitdealer is 8th, argument invalid".
People are more interested in being pedantic than having a sensible discussion it seems.

he is very strong and a good add to any lineup out there

Gogo liquid Sjow! We need more terrans!

I am not suprised really.. Was a long time ago he made some great results really. He did well in Code A but not much after that. It's sad though
Best of luck to SjoW!
