If you earned that much money outside of winning the GSL you've won quite a number of tournaments. Usually this means you're pretty damn good. Hardly. IPL4 will give 100k in prizes, Stephano got like 70 or 80k from IPL3 - MLG was giving 5k per event last season except for the final. Polt got 100k off GSL Super tournament. Prize winnings is a terrible metric for how good someone is. For reference, sjow is ELO Rank: 51st in TLPD international. the tlpd is as misleading as the prize money, for example it doesn't include sjows IeSF win among others.
And 51st ELO rank is still pretty good. That is 17th best foreigner.

In case anyone gave a damn: If SjoW doesn't end up on Liquid I would expect Kas or ThorZaIN to be recruited when their contracts expire.
sjow thinks he is worth more than he is. IMO he's not on the level of a kas or thorzain, they would be infinitely better pick ups for any team.

If you'd go by the money ranking, Sjow would be ranked 19th globally.
If you'd go by the ELO ranking Sjow would be ranked 51st globally.
I think Kennigits reference was more to show how big the difference is between the two things - none of them are really good to judge player skill, which the differentials clearly prove.

I think lots of foreigners will be cut for koreans in the coming year.

well this was kind of unexpected... I really think he will go to quantic for some reason

Little surprised to hear this. Wonder what team will be looking to pick him up.

well the thing is, the ELO system is designed to show objective skill, you cant argue that they are equally bad because money is just a subjective measure. as was pointed out, you can easily find cases of easier matches resulting in more money.

Are you agreeing with me or disagreeing? Confused... .

Ah such a shame to see him leave dignitas, in my eyes he was always the best low apm pro out there. I really hope he gets picked up quickly by a good team, all the best to him!

Back on the topic...
This is obviously huge news for Dignitas. SjoW was one of the faces of the SC2 team along with SeleCt (not to mention the already departed NaNiWa). Will they be able to keep SeleCt on the roster?

Wow, hopefully SjoW finds somewhere new quickly
Dignitas looking a little pale.

What are you talking about? He is easily top 3 terran in Europe. Didn´t he 2-0 Kas just recently etc? There are very few terrans who are as smart as SjoW in game.
Those who say he is overrated cannot have watched his recent games.
