Since the VODs become free for everyone soon I was thinking we could compile a "must watch" list for people in a similar way to GSL.

[VODs become free a week after the tournament]

http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/mlg/arenavod

Recommended Games

(T)DeMusliM vs (Z)NesTea [WB R1] - Especially game 3
(P)Parting vs (P)MC [WB R4] - Especially game 3

(P)San vs (P)SaSe [LB R1] - Especially game 3
(P)NaNiwa vs (Z)NesTea [LB R3]
(P)NaNiwa vs (Z)Leenock [LB R4]
(P)NaNiwa vs (Z)DongRaeGu [LB R5]
(P)Parting vs (Z)DongRaeGu [LB R6] - Especially game 7

(T)MarineKing vs (Z)DongRaeGu [Final]

(Editing in games people recommend! - Please also tell me if i'm being totally trolled with some recommendations!)

Naniwa on his "all kings must die" path of games in LR 3,4,5.

I'm very interested in pecking though the 80 some hours of content. I can pick a bunch of games I probably won't watch but there are a lot of good games I think out there.

any good pvps particularly?

Yeah, like wereolf said, the San vs Sase games were incredible! Game 3 was very good, but Game 2 was amazing too. Definitely worth watching =) Huk vs. Oz was cool too; it helps that I really enjoy the people playing

Oh, and Grubby vs Losira. That was a fantastic series.

Certainly the Naniwa vs Nestea, Leenock, and DRG games. Naniwa demolishes the first two zergs, then he breaks down vs DRG (he had to play all three sets in a row without a break, maybe that's why).

The first game where Demuslim beat Nestea was honestly the first moment in the tournament where you could see hwo awesome some of these matches were going to be.

If you want a short and unorthodox pvp that you will LOVE to use on ladder then the last game of MC vs Parting is absolutely a MUST WATCH. I'm not even protoss but I've been trying it out a bit just for kicks.
I root for Euro Zergs, NA Protoss* and Korean Terrans. (Any North American who has beat a Korean Pro as Protoss counts as NA Toss)

vods become... free? are they HQ? LQ?

seems like a slap in the face to those paying customers...

Just trying to wrap my head around MLG's business model, charging $20 claiming the customers get exclusive access to vods then decide to release them to the public anyways.

Anyone care to fill me in on the Minigun games before i recommend two things which he lost both times?

merz and sjow never played each other so nice try on that one...

As for Losira/Grubby... was it good? I'm pretty sure i remember watching it but i think all i remember about the games was Losira was awful.

Personally i'm just going to make a playlist of MKP's run and let that play. I might go back and pick some other interesting matchups though.

They said from the beginning that vods would be free 1 week after the event so I don't see the issue? It was clearly written in the arena info, but I decided to purchase the pass to watch this weekend since next weekend I'm going to be busy watching Final Round so I wouldn't have time to watch MLG vods.

In terms of recommended games, I thought the Ret v MVP series was quite good ^^.

I'm pretty sure it was clear from the very beginning that the vods would be free a week after the event. That was one of the major factors of me deciding to not pay. I knew i couldn't watch live (real life getting in the way again *sigh*), so watching a week later was the alternative.

Hmm is there any watch the vods in lower quality? My laptop can't handle the quality and its very choppy and I don't see an option to change it.

edit: apparently the only vod that didnt have a quality control was the one I happened to go to first, the rest seem fine.

the final game was epic.

People are just being haters. The final game was a crazy bit of builds you'll never see again and then tastosis being so confused and shocked by it that they don't realize that the event is over.

I would recommend Huk V MKP, fairly back and forth and tense series.

Idra v Oz was close, but not particularly exciting imo.

Ganzi v MVP was interesting to see MVP dominated so heavily.

I wouldn't watch anything from huk on the last day. He obviously was so far off his game he never really exerted the type of control that you would expect from him. 2 allins that never got off the ground and mkp just rolled over when medivacs came over.

Sick stargate play vs Minigun in game three was pretty great.

In general though, just watch Naniwa's run... that alone is worth the twenty bucks I think.

Demuslim - Grubby G1 and G2 because of good play. G3 mainly for the Grubby Troll factor.

Grubby G2 vs. Losira, incredibly clever and well done.

Demuslim v Oz - G1 for just really good micro by Demu.

Naniwa. - All of his LB games tbh. So good.

Huk v Minigun for some interesting PvP. There were alot of PvPs though.

GanZi v Mvp for people who enjoy seeing Ganzi show up Mvp after all the times he's lost to him. GanZi had a good run except for some really sloppy play vs. viOlet.

i don't understand the hype about the naniwa games..

almost every game was cheese from leenock and nestea even 1 game from DRG.. Naniwa either held and won easily or lost in 5 minutes .. really boring games tbh. nani vs nestea was possibly the worst series of the tournament gameplay wise ~_~

This isn't the beta where people were cheesing as their normal strategy. This was a calulated decision by the players in each game to rush because of their opponenets strategy. And in most of the games even though you think hold = win or poorly hold = loss that wasn't the case. You really need to rewatch those matches imo.

though that's what caused him to lose the game.

can you honestly say that you would rewatch the nestea vs nani series? trust me i understand the that they were mindgaming each other and punishing each other but seriously *don't want to ruin it for those living under a rock*
+ Show Spoiler +
game 1 = essentially a free win on dual sight with its extremely open natural and bad scouting by nani over in less than 5 minutes. game 2 = fail cheese/good reaction by nani, gameover but dragged on for 16 minutes. game 3 = proxy 2 gate vs 15 hatch game over in 5 minutes. outside of the hype surrounding the matchup it was a very dull series.

Naniwa's games were absolutely insane, I was praying that him a HuK would play but alas it wasn't meant to be

IdrA vs Oz was pretty good with some close games, HuK vs Ret and Oz were good, and DeMu vs Violet was cool especilly because they just had played in Sao Paulo and there was some very recent history, good games as well!!

DRG vs HuK?

I can't agree. HuK was crushed after just losing the winners semi's to MKP (like, crying, emotionally cruushed), and I felt it really showed in his play in the DRG game.

One of the best games I saw live was DeMusliM vs Oz, WR2 Game 1. DeMuslim played out of his skin. Great game.

Got to say i got back here cause i remembered the vods would be free. I have no idea why naniwa vs nestea is a recommended game, other than it's nostalgic value the games were preaty poor in my opinion.

Watching them live was amazing that possible why, every game was like "OMG OMG OMG" especially the game on antiga shipyard, could you imagin the outburst and excitment is nestea had won WHILE pulling all his drones, i know i for was was sitting there going "LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Please dont let this happen" and when nani held the cheese, it was amazing

I personally would also like to see the (P)NaNiwa vs. (Z)Sheth game added, all of his PvZ's that day were incredible.
