When Eve got signed she wasn't that good and we all know that. So maybe she's not ready yet to have good results?
Take Aphrodite who is the other female player on Startale. She won that female only tournament in China and won some showmatches and clan wars. That might not be a win in the GSL or whatever, but as you can see, a female in a team can be a good thing

Cute yo. Still, I wonder just what she brings to the team in terms of skill. All it said was she used to a pro in WC3, says nothing of what league she is in. I don't think she has ever entered any SC2 tournaments yet either so it's kind of a mystery. I mean, Eve has been in Slayers for awhile now and I still haven't heard anything about her, I wonder if the teams just end up wasting money trying to mold these girls into SC2 machines :S

Well this should be interesting. I'm pretty sure Startale didn't just pick her up for the publicity like some other teams might have with their girls, which means she has a ton of potential. I wonder how good she'll be come the end of the year.

According to Rainbow and STcoach (who are not random people), she has potential and talent. So, we'll see if she can improve and do really well when training/playing full time.
Besides, using your words, there are also "mediocre males getting signed when there are better (fe?)male players still waiting for a contract".

Best of luck to her. She's going to be harshly criticised around these forums. Until females start putting up results against their male counterparts it will continue. This was probably a move on Startale's part to move into the Chinese scene (maybe alliance with a chinese team?). She will be hepful promoting Startale in China. Unknown at the moment if she's even moving to South Korea. I respect that she's leaving a comfortable job to chase her dream.

Why are you so shure? She's a celebrity in China so at this time the most likely scenario is that they are signing her for publicity in China.

Because normal looking girls don't give you much attention. When one of these teams signs a girls that's physically ugly I may believe them that they are actually signing her for her skills.
