Yeah, that is odd. I wonder if the majority of the female players in general are terran... Lol, I'm also terran.

Kind of funny how all the girl pro-gamers are really good looking :D. Good luck MisS!

Since female pro-gamers lack skill and therefore results, their main selling point is their looks. Organisations aren't going to sponsor ugly females since whiteknights go batshit insane for good looking female players. The cold truth.

Quite a sweeping statement to make about gender here....

I hope a girl beats your theory and wins the GSL.

“Lots of people told me that I am stupid for giving up my job as a tv hostess to become a computer player, but how often do you get a chance to follow your dream?” said Yiying ”miss” Han, “When I got informed of this test to become a member of StarTale I was really nervous, just to get the opportunity is a dream come true. When I was told I could become a part of StarTale, it was the happiest day of my life, I still can’t believe it! I will do my best every day, in every game. This is my dream come true.”

I'll just have to agree with whoever she talked to. I mean, I understand wanting to follow your dreams... but you're quitting a real job for something that will leave you without a salary essentially and a small place to live shared with a dozen other players (assuming she lives in the team house... otherwise that's even worse because the money for living space would then come out of her pockets) all the while she's a player I had never heard of so she never did anything worthwhile in competitions so far.

I know this applies to a ton of other players (I really don't understand how anyone besides the top top top players decide to keep being a progamer when it really hurts their future/education/finances) but in this case she has the added "had a good job" thing going on...

Good luck to her, but not a wise decision IMO.

you sir are what is wrong with the world. too many people doing what society makes them or thinks they should do. everyone should be doing what they want as long as they dont conflict with the rights of others. everyone would be happier the world would be happier. if i wasnt getting paid for something i liked to do i dunno how i would live with myself

edit: would the sc2 scene be this big if people chose not to follow their dreams? doubtful

I said it wasn't smart. That's true even if you want to believe in dreams. She had her other job for a while... I'm sure she would've quit it a long time ago if she didn't enjoy it somewhat.

And yes, the SC2 scene would be non-existent. I'm aware. It doesn't change the fact that it's a poor choice for a life path for 95%+ of people that choose to do it.

*EDIT : And I dropped pharmacy school after 3 years (large salary) to go back to biochemistry research (decent salary) so I know what it is to go and do something you want. But I wouldn't have went back if I made 5-10k a year in research.

I'm glad for once that people are bringing up the "b teamers" to be on par with the girl gamers. I agree with it wholeheartedly, depending on which b teamers we're talking about. They're also equally likely to have any results in the GSL.
Hey! How you doin'?

Maybe because terran is the most intuitive race to play. Almost all RTS have a 'human' race who have buildings that poops out units. Zerg with its Hive/Inject/Creep systems and protoss with its warp ability might seem a little bit strange/difficult for people that played alot of other RTS.

It might also have to do with the story. Terrans look like heroes, fighting for good. Zerg is creepy and disgusting and Protoss are the scary aliens.

Miss is so kawaii (♥_♥) :D

LOL. And yes, it is great that teams invite female gamers into their rosters, be it for being part of the gaming team or working for the team. Gogo Startale!

Does anyone know of her WC3 career and how much success/impact she had there? Looking for info myself, it's difficult because of language.

One of the best female WC3 players of all time, on par with Cola who took 2nd place in ZOWIE DIVINA.

Which translates into: Probably better than 97% of all the foreigners.
Love it, though. This sort of deal brings great momentum.
