He is literally a 1 man army at the moment, nobody else in SK can really match him as an adequate practice partner. He has to hope his old friends are willing to practice with him still. Then again Puma seems to be doing fine so MC can probably handle it.
It was really awesome back when SK sent their Europeans to Korea, only a few of them could handle it in the end like Madfrog, I doubt they can pull it off again unless they've got more money now because they seem to be in a slump since WC3 and WoW arena waned. In the end their whole WC3 roster was almost entirely Korean too...

SK is one of my favorite old school esports teams. I'm excited about this.

Totally unrelated things lol. I'm sure they could remain great buddies without both being on SK

That is... shocking. I guess he really likes the ability to go to foreign countries and participate. i wonder though if he will get the practice he needs to stay at the top.

Kinda sum up what I think...sad day for oGs, I guess FroGG will have to step up his play and win the next GSL (a new timing push for each game :D)

I'm as shocked as everyone else. Definitely did not see this coming. I hope the best for MC, SK, and oGs in the future though.

Whoah...Who else is on SK?
This is a huge loss for oGs, in a lot of ways, MC was the face of Old Generations.

Bull shit. Look at the photo. The words are clearly photoshopped, and MC does not have a hair part like that. The tag lines on the tag right under the hood should warp the letters "MC," but somehow in this picture they don't. Photoshop, people.

Doesn't say anything about his practice regimen or losing practice partners though.

Of course people will play with him, that's pretty obvious. But living in a team house means a stricter practice regimen, and constant SC2 strategy/build/timing/macro/etc discussion, while it also has the advantage of a coach.

Even if people from oGs still practice with him, it's not the same, it's detrimental to practice. He might soon dissapear from the GSL if he and SK don't have something special prepared. Which is why I think it's a shortsighted move, or MC is aiming for something other than the GSL.

That's jumping to conclusion though based on guesses. You don't know yet what his practice regimen will look like, for all we know SK could rent a spot at one of the pro houses for him to practice at. You also don't know what his practice was like inside the house. People always assumed HuK learned tons of 'sitting next to MC' when in fact they helped each other out only on a few occasions during HuKs time in the oGs house. Stop assuming things.

I agree. It's pretty indisputable that the team house environment is highly productive but not every player needs or can handle that living condition. We've already seen a few Korean players leave Korean teams because they don't want the practice house environment. Playing/talking/thinking about SC2 12+ hours a day can cause burnout and ultimately a lack of motivation and decline in performance. And yes, everyone assumed HuK was getting better because he had oGs protoss to help him but in reality he had very little help from the Koreans earlier. I think its safe to say this is a huge change for MC but we don't know yet if it will be good or bad.

On the flipside, koreans who have left the team house practice regimen have either dissapeared into near oblivion, or noticeably dropped their playing level, or slowed down on their progression.

Someone else in this thread mentioned that both MVP and NesTea live outside the team house. Not sure if that's true but if it is... MVP and NesTea are the two best players in the world. No question.

Yeah but they never entered the system in the first place, they're an anomaly. There's really no other really successful players who are even code S that don't live in a team house.

Nada, Zenio. But yeah, it's hard. It seems especially hard for someone who based his play off his practice in the team house (rather than insane laddering or other practice methods).

Nada and Zenio can hardly be called successful at this point.

Yea, code S is hardly successful... just be quiet, seriously. How shortsighted of a statement is that.

Zenio got through possibly the most bizarre Up-and-Down group and his ZvT frankly looked terrible (and his ZvP was always terrible too). Nada's play has looked poor for a long time and he should be thankful that Lucky really screwed up in their match.

Seriously, "Code S is hardly successful". How shortsighted of a statement is that. I don't remember such praise for Ensnare and Virus.
