Sorry to off topic. HyuN is out of TSL?

As far as I know, crank is still on slayers so he could have just picked random players for his example

So far most of the posts from VirgilSC2 that I see are posts pretty much bragging about how much he knows about the "scene" and his "contacts". Very annoying. If they picked up Apocalypse they most likely picked him for a good reason and your job is not to put down a player who is trying his best to become great. Not to mention most of the players you mentioned are already on teams. Perhaps you are implying that foreign teams really "should" poach players from Korean teams who have worked hard to make their players shine.

Imagine if Apocalypse decided to check out TL with his (I assume) poor english and asks his friends to translate the comments for him. Sees these posts. Gets heartbroken. =[

Congratulations to the player for getting on the team, and go die in a fire to people who are going "WHO IS THIS?" "WHY NOT XXX?"

Get a life.

It's really quite hilarious to see the amount of posts by people who don't know shit about shit but think they do.

It's like when Huk wasn't performing for a while and people were massively underrating him while to anyone who played him on ladder or practice knew he was one of the top 3 or whatever protoss players in the world.

People kept underrating him until he won dreamhack. I'm not saying this means Apocalypse is a Huk level slept on player, but using players like Mujuk, Maru or Crank as 'significantly' more noteworthy players is a joke. He's definitely on all of those guys level at the very least lol

I don't know Apocalypse but I support this kind of move from Quantic. Wish him the best of luck in being successful.

Since it seems my post in this thread has been taken in a different light since the edit of the Original Post, let me explain:

My post regarding HyuN/Crank/MujuK was not in response to Quantic signing Apocalypse. Rather, it was in response to a bit mentioned in the article at the end of the 2011 Wrap-Up done by the Team Liquid writing staff. I don't remember what the original post here said, but it should be known it was NOT the current OP.

I was simply saying I thought it strange that they (the writer[s] who picked 'upcoming players to watch') made a strange decision in Apocalypse over fairly unknown players with astounding moments of brightness at the end of 2011. (See HyuN, Crank, and MujuK)

I think it's important to note that this thread had posts transplanted from almost exactly a month ago. If you look, the OP is dated Jan. 31st 2012, but the first posts start from January 1st 2012.

This is exactly the kind of reaction changing an old thread to a new topic incites. Just to let you know, I have quite a life; I work a full time job, I'm in college, and I spend the rest of my free time doing something I'm passionate about which just so happens to be E-Sports. If you don't like the information I share, that's your prerogative but please don't insult me for doing so. Yes, I happen to have "contacts" and yes, I mention them when I post information for one reason: At this point, I'd like to believe a significant amount of people can at least recognize if I post something and mention my "contacts" that I'm not just talking out of the side of my mouth. It (hopefully) saves me 3 pages of people asking "source?".

If you have an issue with me please feel free to send me a PM and I'd be happy to discuss it with you. As I just recently elaborated, this thread was originally of a different subject about a month ago, and my post was not in direct comment to "Quantic Signs Apocalypse"

Yes! this! Sometimes I log onto KR in the afternoon EST around like 3~5pm and hes still laddering (which is around like 5~7am KST) He's definitely a hardworker that's for sure

Always see his name on KR players' streams. I do think apocalypse played a lot of games on ladder with all the Code A/S players. Wish him all the best!

I don't even understand why Apocalypse was on the review thread... there have been plenty of more notable players than him. He's always been high on the ladder but only because he plays a heck a lot. Other than that he hasn't done anything notable.

Nah man Apocalypse is a beast... he always has incredibly tight build orders, amazing micro and puts people through hell before they get a win... most of the times that I've seen TL streamers like HongUn, Huk or Hwangsin run into Apocalypse on ladder he's torn them a new asshole. Don't underestimate this guy... he's damn good!

yeah i agree 100%. I just tend to ignore people on the forums nowadays actually. It's no use trying to tell or prove by giving them facts. Some people will never change their opinions about certain stuff.

Best of luck to him! Hopefully his IPL TAC can be a springboard to bigger things for him, he obviously has a lot of potential.
