Best part has to be there's no "weak group" anymore, everyone is really scary, and (for once), it seems everyone deserves to be in code S wtf are u talking about? leenock didn't pick anyone, groups were random(with 1 player from every tier)

People were complaining that the format where player chose their opponents made for one sided finals and now that we have random selection from 4 different seedings (As it is done in many other serious sports competitions) it's not good either? So I'm really curious what you'd suggest instead? Anyway! I love how GSL code S feels stacked with insanely skilled players nowadays! Remember in the beginning of Code S it didn't feel nearly as sick, but now I'm practically drooling over the amount of talent in this tournament ! :D Hoping Sen and Idra plays some great games and atleast one of them makes it through! Even though Idra's group is absolutely insane! ![]()

Hand pick all the groups so that the "favorites" get a clear advantage to the quarters? Hand pick all the groups to get a good racial distribution across all groups? Hand pick all the groups to avoid team kills? Have players pick their own groups so we end up with one half of the draw being incredibly strong and the other lackluster? How do we decide who picks these groups first and in what order after that? This system is almost perfect. I like the idea that only the winner & runner-up can pick their first opponent from the lowest tier. The only thing they can perhaps improve upon is to *attempt* to remove team kills and *attempt* to get a better racial distribution. This is a very difficult task because of the uneven distribution of races and number of teams with varying numbers of players. The UEFA Champions League has the same system - Top teams (calculated over a rolling 5-year period) are placed in top tier, with the rest cascading down according to their ranking co-efficient (in this case: GSL Ranking points). This has worked very well for a long period of time and rewards consistency. Sure you get a "dark horse" enter the fray where they are considered "better" than the rest of the tier they're placed in (Man City/ForGG this year) but with no history you can't subjectively rank them higher up otherwise you'd have to do this for everyone to remain fairness. You may get a team/player that underperformed for a couple of seasons and so they drop a tier as punishment for themselves (facing harder opponents from the off Inter/Milan both recently). This hasn't happened because there's no decay in GSL points yet, but it will happen once the format has settled. The Champions League does have a very complex draw that GOMTV might be able to adapt for themselves. In the first knock-out stage the groups are drawn to avoid teams from the same countries meeting each other - at the same time the draws also filter out the dates certain teams can play on to avoid any more than 2 teams from a single country having a match on the same night - to maximise revenue from TV rights. I don't know exactly how it works or how to explain it, but there's a possibility to maybe reduce team kills. There might be too many different teams and too many different players for this to be feasible however. Edit: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/champions-league/7964960/Champions-League-draw-a-complete-guide.html This kind of explains it better (from 10/11 season) I tried to make this make as much sense as possible - but I'm not sure why since some people are incapable of reading (i.e. people not understanding the tiers fullstop).
