Be careful saying that here. A couple pages back, an incredibly informed, polite, reasonable, and intelligent individual said it's only worth it to teams like EG to buy Tournament-dominating players. Basically saying that the best move for an ESPORTS team is to adopt a philosophy that stifles ESPORTS.

Huurrr..

big teams are businesses. eg, and other high tier teams, cant pay bad players significant money while continuing to put out the salaries necessary to attract good players. good players are the ones who bring in viewership and thus sponsorships, to both the team and to tournaments. without those sponsorships ESPORTS ceases to exist. foreign sc2 isnt set up for a full on team house structure like korea is simply because of geography and foreign players' lack of dedication, so the expenses of allowing an upcoming player to focus only on practice arent worth it. you have to pay their entire cost of living and theres a pretty good chance you're never gonna make anything significant off them. most people dont end up being that good. in korea this is acceptable because you can just stick them in an existing team house for very low cost and kick them out when you realize they suck. the one player of every 10 who has some success in tournaments justifies this, and the 1 in every 100 who becomes a star makes the industry successful.
so foreign esports has to focus on the existing stars, or buy them from korea, and hope that low level non korean teams stumble upon a talented player and do enough to let him make it once in a while.

So why hasn't incontrol been kicked yet?

Man some posters really are dense.

IdrA already stated that EG does more for low level players than any other team. That includes providing players like Incontrol, and lesser known players like Axslav an attempt to train like the Koreans. People always talk about how EG buys their players but theyre one of first and few teams to actually give their players a house to train.

Second, if you think Incontrol isn't valuable to EG BEYOND his Sc2 results you are too young to understand business.

As a caster/streamer, maybe. As a player, fuck that.

your ignorance hurts my head so bad from your post. To say "as a player, fuck that" just truly shows how dumb you are. If you know anything about ESports before you stumbled upon Sc2 you'd realize incontrol is one of very few foreigners who became very good at Sc1 and chose to choose the path of a professional gamer at the time. During that time if you told anyone you were a professional gamer in NA you were probably laughed at. Anyone with roughly his skill and commitment could become a top player. Most of the players that are become elite are hard working players. Raw talent will only get you so far. But clearly you must understand that since you are a pro player who committed 8-10 hours a day training in korea before coming to Starcraft 2 right? Pretty sure incontrol is going to korea soon to train for 8-10 hours a day soon too......... but I am sure you know how to be pro at starcraft and the large amount of time commitment it takes to be good at it sitting from behind your monitor. Oh wait.............
JD, need I say more? :D

In a few hours they will announce the player. I think it's time we make a bet:
only 1 guess is allowed. If you guess the right player, you will get... uhm... +1 EG-point.
I say JYP

I just realized Kas said he was planning to go to korea in 2012 so it could be a possibility but it is more likely a zerg player like moon or sen
My bet is on Moon

It's more likely that someone like CatZ or drewbie joins EG.

Aka it won't happen ever.

1. JYP
2. Killer
3. Moon
4. Coca
5. Kas
6. Moonglade

My top six in order. If it's anyone else, I'll give credit to EG for being the first to actually do an announcement of an announcement that people didn't figure out in a day.
