This is not intended to be a flame post to infuriate any fans or anti-EG fans, but this is what I've confirmed from 9 different sources, so thought I'd share it. I'm 100% serious.
This is bad news for the Street Fighter scene indeed.

Guys I just heard from a super reliable source that confirms my previous post. It's EGDavidKim. Woot.

Looking forward to this announcement now. If this announcement is something along the lines of Anna Prosser as the new female esport player of EG, I'm going to first punch my screen and then shoot myself for wasting so much time on the interrogation, deduction and analysis of this announcement.

For what its worth, Sen prioritizes playing in the Taiwan Starcraft 2 league. I believes it called the TeSL. When his contract expired with fnatic, he signed with Gamabears without much hesitation while it appeared Fnatic did everything they could to keep him. Therefore, I don't think Sen would have a change of heart about building SC2 up in Taiwan and turn his back on a Taiwanese based team. I guess it depends on how healthy the TeSL is at this point, and if Sen realized that foreign tournaments is where the money is at. So it's not entirely impossible.. just don't see Sen as the prime suspect right now. Maybe Sen wouldn't be able to participate in TeSL because of his code S spot now, so EG offered him a contract to represent EG in international tournaments while he can't fulfill his player duties in the TeSL. Considering how skilled a player Sen is in the TeSL/Taiwan, I think they would actually want to see Sen participate in the GSL to represent Taiwan. Who knows though, maybe Sen and Alex were friends already and Alex was just giving Sen some advice/encouragement for the GSL (that's what it looked like he was doing from the glimpses of the chat that I saw). Or maybe Alex is right now trying to recruit Sen for the future and this announced player on Friday is someone completely different...

You make a good point, if Sen is competing in the GSL, a 2 month long tournament, what happens to his TeSL obligations? Maybe they take place at completely different times, I'm not sure. I believe Fnatic tried to work out something where Sen would represent them in tournaments outside of Taiwan, but for some reason that ended up not working. I know that Gammabears actually made a thread announcing that Sen was now in code S.. could mean that Sen will represent them in the GSL, or maybe they did it just for the publicity even if they knew Sen was going to leave.. You know I had'nt considered Sen at all but it could be possible. Could potentially mean 2 of my favorite zergs on the same team 0_0

This is bad news for the Street Fighter scene indeed. Daigo is washed up now, and only accepts money matches from players that aren't top japanese caliber. Which means he is still the best player in the USA and would make a lot of money winning all of our tournaments.

EG's player poaching has kind of gotten out of hand (complexity CS team, I was playing cs competetively and remembered that quite fondly). It would instill a large amount of confidence in the team if they were to find a relatively unknown player and bring him to the competitive level through hard work and practice, rather what taking what talent is already there and using/abusing it until it no longer turns a profit. Teams as large as this should take alot of effort to bringing new talent into the community and it's deeply saddening that EG has never ever taken this stance. "Not from around here" could mean not from the competitive scene, although extremely unlikely I have my hopes. new talent sucks, how many high level foreign players came from nothing? nearly all of them have been competitive for a long time in sc2 and most were competitive in sc1 or war3. look at the rosters of any big teams, theyre full of famous names or they arent winning. eg does more for lower level players than any other good team. we have a practice house and have sent all of our players to multiple offline events. and believe it or not our lineup does not solely consist of me huk puma and demuslim. He emphasized wc3 and big names. Case closed, its Moon.

Actually now that I think about it, Sen won't be able to compete in the TESL if he's in Korea for the GSL..... Yeah it's probably Sen. EG.Sen.
