Most of the so-called 'bias' seems more like particular interest, rather than bias in terms of rating the players, I would say.

I think you should be nicer to the players, pointing out mistakes is fine but going into detail about how you can't wrap your head around why he doesnt have collossus range (which he just plain forgot...) for a good 2minutes isn't my cup of tea. (ksl a few days ago). You're improving though: )

As above, when people mess up point it out ... maybe try and rationalise it but move on ![]() I get that it sticks and you really want to find a good reason sometimes but can only see the bad - and also that that locks your brain into the problem. But you need to figure out how to break out :D but yeah right now you and wolf are my favorite casting pair i think. (Glad wolf has found someone that works on his level)

I hate the way you critisize players constantly, saying 'Player X should be doing X why isn't he doing X he is so silly for not doing X' Every GSL player has an understanding of the game far beyond you, you need to respect that. You can point out that he could be doing something different, but not that he is making a huge blunder etc.

Players make mistakes and one of the things that we (casters) have to do is point them out. Like it or not. I talk to players all the time after their matches, much more often than you I'd assume, and even though I obviously make mistakes in my judgement players admit to mistakes they made a lot more often than you would think. The level of play in the GSL is amazing and very often those mistakes that we see occur because they were forced by the opponent they are facing. But they make mistakes nonetheless and neither me, nor Wolf or colleagues like MrBitter will stop pointing them out only because you want to maintain the illusion that players are flawless beings. Edit @Neustedt: glad to hear that, thank you very much ![]()

In this age where everyone is scared about their image and gets nervous in front of a camera, it is refreshing to see someone like yourself who is always composed and comfortable casting. Maybe you aren't as intense as some people want, but I love watching you cast.

Edit @Neustedt: glad to hear that, thank you very much ![]() The problem is that you and Wolf are too often incorrect in your claim that a player is making a mistake. You both are too quick to make bold statements about a particular decision being a mistake. The result is that in most casts I watch there is constant talk of mistakes. For example you'll call a battle before it starts and then turn out to have been wrong. It is surprisingly difficult to predict the outcomes of a lot of battles in SC2 unless you have a lot experience actually executing the attacks and defenses while playing the game yourself. In sum I think you are just to quick to make sweeping assertions about players' decisions. Your level of game knowledge is just not high enough to justify your criticisms being so frequent. You have to realize that if so many people are pointing this out in this thread there must be a reason for it. If I have time I'll go back through some of the up and down matches and cite specific examples of what I'm talking about. That all being said I enjoy your castin otherwise and I do hope to see you casting GSL long term.

However, you've greatly improved very quickly! I love the Khaldor/Wolf combo, and when I come home from work (night shift central US), I get home right when you're doing more casting on your own. It shows just how truly passionate you are and how hard you've worked to improve.

Thanks for making this thread, even though I only just found it(TL Noob). In regards to your casting - I believe you have one of the best speaking voices out there and you always present yourself very professionally and take your fans very seriously - all of which I believe to be very important in your role. You've opened up to your co-casters quite quickly after being in Korea for the short time you have, keep on doing that - especially when it comes to game analysis from someone like Wolf. Personally, I value Wolf's contributions to the commentary very much and think the two of you make a pretty awesome team. Side note: What exactly would you call a Khaldor/Wolf archon? Waldorf? I gotta say, that sounds pretty baller.
