I'm sure even you can think of a few more reasons why it might be beneficial to have idrA on your team and not Avilo. Just thought I'd point out that your points about stream viewers and money are completely irrelevant to zombie's argument concerning manner. Incontrol was criticizing Avilo for manner only, not for manner combined with low stream viewership and prize winnings. It's entirely plausible that EG would have a contingency plan for bad manner from Idra, therefore the comparison of Idra to the Avilo pickup is a relevant one.

He comes on the forums a lot to defend himself and sometimes comes away looking bad because he sometimes tries to fight fire with fire. But his motivation for this game really can't be questioned. Avilo on the other hand, I'm inclined to agree a bit. He is a very talented player, but 95% of the PR I see from him is bitching about TvP. It just comes across as petty in my opinion. I'm aware that their are other professional gamers that whine about balance a lot (Idra for an easy example) but someone like Idra is already a brand and can pretty much do what he wants. Avilo isn't. I personally don't have a problem with people being BM in games, I think it adds another element to the game that is enjoyable for the spectator. So, in my opinion, that's a non-issue. If I were a team picking up new players, I would want someone whos main goal was to be the best player they could be, not someone whos priorities are complaining about a matchup on the forums. Having said that, I think the talent is there, he just needs a bit of a different mindset in order for this to be successful. Desrow definitely isn't a bad player and it's pretty cool how much he streams etc., but that doesn't change the fact that his defensiveness on the forums and a few incidents that got public (weird team changes, weird coaching habits) just comes across kinda douchey. I'm just not enjoying his personality.

Just because my thoughts were contrary to the sheep herd at that time doesn't mean i was "bm." A few people seem to have this notion that if you "disagree" with popular opinion you are "bm" or should be flamed. It's OK for people to disagree with others if there is an argument to be made like the one you linked there. More people should post their thoughts instead of sugar coating them or taking what the current popular pro says as the "truth" ![]() ![]() I want to take this apart piece by piece. Changed from what? Back in early retail, you were a conceited player who wasn't very good. You haven't changed since then. Your thoughts were contrary to the sheep herd? I don't care that you had a differing opinion-- people have differing opinions, that's just life. What made me disrespect you was that your opinion was not only just incorrect, it was a defeatist attitude towards an ever-changing game. Arguing that there's only one way to win a MU hemorrhages ingenuity and stops the growth of the game. Although the saying wasn't popular back then, you were killing eSports. Thank God people didn't take you seriously, or else Terrans wouldn't have discovered the power of late-game TvZ. People don't sugar coat their ideas, nor do they blindly accept what professionals say is the truth. There is value to what professional players say, usually, but there are a lot of things they say that I think are way off. My problem is that there are people who like you, avilo, and, in doing so, take your opinion more highly than others. When you start talking about imbalance, it convinces people that there is imbalance and it makes the game less fun-- especially since it isn't true. EDIT: toned it down a little

It's when people take something relatively minor and assume it has broad implications for "esports." Do you really think Avilo was stifling TvZ innovation through his word? No - he doesn't have a big enough audience and in any case people can think for themselves, as you even said in your post.

I don't really know Avilo and his stream that well, but I'm sure that if the BMing gets bad TeamLgN will help him with that. I mean, surely the concept of teams does not only exist to make money, but to help the players improve in any ways necessary. That aside, congratulations and good luck to Avilo and Doji, expecting some great work from the both of them.

O_O No offense to avilo but he just doesn't have the skills to back it up like IdrA does. Both are controversial the way they act on ladder. It's only natural people are giving us shit for picking him up. Give him the time to become a star player (if that ever happens) and people will like him for his sense of humor and his BM just like people like Greg. Whether you like Avilo or not, thanks for giving us your feedback and I hope everyone has a great holiday season =)
