I'm not surprised Leenock wanted Ganzi. Ganzi has a very good understanding of the matchup. He doesn't beat MMA or MVP in mechanics but he's got the builds.
The only thing that can knock Leenock out are builds that he never seen before now. You have to look at it again. He's NOT practicing with GanZi.
I think Jjakji will take this, have you seen his jacket? Everyone knows Korean play is directly related to the jackets. Leenock doesn't even have a jacket man (BoSs you need to get on that ASAP)

I want jjakji to roll leenock to avenge MVP.

Ex: When Naniwa consistently fast expanded on every MLG match, Leenock smartly did a 2 base roach timing to counter it. When Leenock goes macro, you can occasionally see hints of the infamous "Sauronzerg" when he knows he has an economical advantage.

Well Leenock is a little pudgy like July in an adorable way and also Leenock isn't afraid to all-in if necessary, or just unpredictable play in general, much like July.
So that is similarities in appearance and then playstyle as well.

I think they call him that because he's unpredictable (and fat )

During the 10 years history of E-sports, there’s one thing that these really young top players share in common: Consistency and becoming even more powerful. Leenock and Jjakji both have the skills and the guts to become the top (aka “bonjwa”) player.
Great read, but please edit the bonjwa predictions. it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaay to early to bring this up.

Leenock's can utilize good all-ins, but what he's more known for is his solid all-round play. July is mostly known for his extremely aggressive style of play. Prior to the Naniwa matches, his most notable "aggressive" play was 6-pooling Nada.
And I don't recall Leenock every citing July as an inspiration. I could be mistaken. Do you have a source? Not that it matters though, MKP cites Boxer as his inspiration. That doesn't make him a MiniBoxer. A Fake Boxer maybe (kekeke).
And for the record, the only time I hear July and Leenock comparisons are always together with the Gumiho. Where Leenock evolves into Gumiho into July.

Well the article specifically states that Leenock was interested in practicing with GanZi but instead they're practicing in-house and RaiKageRyu did say "wanted Ganzi" being past tense so he's correct. He never stated that Leenock will be practicing with Ganzi.
What does MVP's jacket look like?

Damn kids get off my lawn
Leenock even looks like a miniJuly zerg. Im hoping that hes gonna take it and Im not really worried. Considering his recent track record vs Terran Im pretty sure hes gonna win

jjaki doesn't seem so confident, i wouldn't be either lol

it is startling to think how young the winner of this event will be, young talent already replacing the old it seems.

A very excellent read, thanks for the translations!
