This is pretty cool IMO. I know a lot of people who didn't want to pay full price for this game and I'm gonna convince them to get an account now.

This is effectively EU as well. I had one of my NA accounts changed into an EU one by calling Blizzard, took about 3 business days for the change to take effect.

Can't you buy this, then call Blizzard and ask them to change your region to Korea if you want to play in the Korean server?
I am pretty sure that is allowed :D

Exactly, its what I did with my copy. Just because the game is based on the NA server, doesnt mean you have to be

Has anyone EVER gotten their NA successfully changed into a Korean one? Laddering in Korea is like... the greatest way to train. If this is so I'll buy a copy.
