Excited about MLG going abroad but American crowds have been the best so far. Hopefully another country manages to step up.

i think there should be at least 2month gaps between MLG. it really will help the excitement and importance of the tournament.
this is from what i felt about orlando and providence

So true, tournaments tend to water down because they are too frequently, the most prominent example being the GSL.

Wouldn't suprise me to see them partner up with someone again or do more with IMG.
Afaik they have a huge list of new sponsors for the next season.

I can't believe I'm more hype for the sponsors of the 2012 season. More big name companies coming into esports is always good.

why would they want to alienate the console players? Halo has been their flagship game and has gotten them on ESPN (though it obviously didn't stick). it's actually pretty simple. halo is no e-sport at all. it is just a game people play for fun as most console games are (excluding fighting games like Tekken and Street Fighter) and it is not competitive. but i won't expand this further as there is no point in debatting this.
but i have this to add: if halo is the flagship of console gaming why are there nearly no teams outside of the US? where is the GLOBAL console scene?
perhaps because consoles are just limited to gaming but many families have a computer for work anyway? this is especially true in countries where the population is not that rich. and most e-sports games run on really old computers that are affordable. just look at the hardware requirements of BW, quake, CS 1.6. or WC3 (Dota).

i hate people arguing with "marketing" things.
but first: there is no difference in a "stigmata" of console or PC players. consoles are in fact considered more nerdy in germany at least because well, you can only play on a console while you can also work with a computer.
second: i and many others don't give a shit about people playing fb games, phone games or console games. i don't even want those people playing sc2 (or any other game i play competitively) because sc2 is not casual and if they start playing it will become more casual (look at WOW for reference).

so i don't agree at all that we "need" console games or casual scenes. if casual people watch e-sports games because they like it it's fine. if they don't because there's no console games in there then who cares? this stupid forced "moar growth" sounds like total business economics logic to me which should not be applied at all to gaming. "forced" growth is not healthy at all and you have to make compensations for those people that will hurt the scene.

just let it grow naturally. like it has been since the days of quake in the '90s.
unfortunately there are too many people in the scene nowadays that don't know about the growth of e-sports and just think it appeared with sc2.

btw: e-sports IS elitist. just like any soccer or basketball player is elitist if he is playing competitive.
and i also only picked the "elitist" games, not the dumbed down versions that are maybe played by more people and have better visuals to please the sponsors (CS:Source as an excellent example for both) but are way worse to watch. even DOTA as an e-sport is debattable IMHO (but the scene in asia is BIG).

Sundance confirmed that Anaheim is a lock, mainly because of Blizzard.

Also he mentioned another eSports league is gonna work with them to host events outside of NA, probably Dreamhack, IEM, and GSL.
