I don't see how you can make that claim
You're either one of the best, or you're not. There's no "probably" about it. And Tyler should just officially retire from the pro scene at this point, in my opinion.

Yeah man, the 95% of players that aren't winning events right now should just quit. There's no getting better or any future or anything. Tyler said himself he hasn't had enough time of thorough training to be expected to do well in MLG.

What are you talking about? Honestly, I'm not trying to be rude, but this is just an inane post. Tyler is absolutely not one of the best foreigners. Tyler himself would admit that because he is an intelligent, honest person with tact. He literally never produces results. This does not stop him from being a great ambassador and esports rep; but to claim he is "probably one of the best foreigners" is just a completely absurd statement bud.

Understand the concept of family, friendship, and not kicking people you liked but are a bit washed up ? They might have a lower salary but kicking guys is not the way to have a good spirit in your team. And... just look at Haypro + Show Spoiler [MLG SPOILER] +today :p so-so results for one year, kickass day at MLG finishing top8 :p @JustPassingBy : he was inches away from booting MVP, too. Too bad ultras are... :'(
zergs need to stop crying about ultras. Haypro lost himself the game. He crushed MVPs push and left himself up 100 supply and then proceeded to sit around doing nothing while mvp hellion dropped everywhere and remaxed. If he would have just killed him right then and there the game is over.

yes, actually.. most of the people with big pro aspirations but zero or worsening results should just get a reality check. Keep playing for fun, sure.. but most people are deluding themselves thinking that they have a future as pro players. And Tyler's SC2 career so far has been nothing but him slipping further and further down the ladder. There's no way he can be considered a top tier player right now, and if motivation is so hard for him to come by maybe he should step out of the pro scene once and for all. It's not like he hasn't been thinking about it either...

Of course he produced results. If he hadn't, he wouldn't be considered the best Starcraft player in the west at one point.
He can be one of the best western foreigners. He is his own obstacle, and when that obstacle is overcome he is going to shut a lot of people up (just like Jinro and Haypro did at certain points in their careers).

there is not a single tl player that doesn't deserve his spot on the team. not sure why people in this thread think they are qualified to say otherwise. maybe you guys should consider retiring from posting and get a reality check.

Is this an announcement for Nazgul going super ultra mega pro and competing at top events? =o

And Tyler has even said he didn't expect to do super spectacularly at providence.

Zenio is the best bet, but does anyone think they could use another solid terran player, relative to the other races? Especially with TLO main racing zerg now.
Just a thought anyways!

Tyler did alright in the last couple of MLGs (Anaheim and Raleigh), managing to get ranked 28 and 23 (and that was going through the open brackets), outranking white-ra, TLO, drewbie, choya, Oz, Machine and a lot of other skilled players. I'd say that even if he hasn't been producing outstanding results he is still a pretty damn good player.

Or he could work harder and get better. Everyone experiences failure, the people who become great keep working at it and don't just quit because they're not the best. Tyler is not one of the best foreigners right now, but he has been the best foreigner before and he knows what it takes to get there. Its just a matter of him wanting it badly enough and going for it, which is up to him.
Michael Jordan got cut from his high school basketball team once, food for thought.

You can't justify that statement with a simple equation. One game is a sequel to the other in every single way, both in terms of players playing it (for the most part), and the game itself.
Results stand and TSL2 win (over many of currently active top foreign players) is both relevant and significant when one considers his ability and potential. Accomplishments don't get just wiped out, and it is unfair to claim he has no results to justify people's belief in him.

How did this thread go from a mysterious announcement + Show Spoiler +(new shirts, TL movie/docu, Zenio joining TL) to a whiner's reunion discussing/doubting the skills of pro players? This is like the Blizzard forums all over: I don't know anything about the game but here's my opinion: *random stuff that makes no sense at all*" --> We don't care, stay on topic or make your own thread (and eventually get warned/banned for doing so because you have nothing interesting to say) Thank you.

It's not like he hasn't been thinking about it either... He can do what he damn well pleases. I dont think he or anyone else gives a damn of what you think. Sad too see so many Sc2 newbies not see how incredible Tyler was in BW. He doesnt do well because he doesnt play. But now hes been playing almost daily. If he feels like hes no longer motivated then he will quite but thats is clearly not the case.
Also saying that a player should retire just because hes not a top tier player now is fucking ridiculous lol!
