how does Sase get these spots? i never seen him preform. heard i cheesed out namiwa in some swedish tournament but that cant be enough? ^^

Really people, this shows the full roster of people that accepted their invites. It speaks nothing of all those who received invites and declined due to lack of desire, full schedules, or just conflicting events.

It also appears that prior MLG participation was considered as well, and as much as it may dilute the field, MLG has the right to do as they please.

Altho I like the invites, it would be fun to see a polish or ukrainian zerg instead of haypro for example. Id like to see mana too since he has been on fire lately.

It'll be weird seeing MLG as an online tourney, but hopefully some of their production value from live events carries through.

he beat Socke, Revival, Puzzle, Kiwi, MMA (and anypro , MKP last week). And still no invitations anywhere.

I don't even think this was based off invites... I think everyone except Sase has mlg ranked points. Don't spew shit about how jp chose who got invited and he maliciously left him out..... Also IPL3 is an on line tourney, and it is played at a really inconvinient time for the koreans. Take thorzain vs MC for example, Thorzain beat mc online, but when they played at other lans mc did not drop a series.


Thorzain beat MC when they were both at Dreamhack in TSL3.

Why would they pick incontrol? He does terrible every tournament. Not just hating but look at his numbers. Huk should have been in instead

My guess was they felt it would bring more viewers...I may be completely off though. I agree they should of invited Huk...but as someone else said maybe they did and he just couldn't make time for it.

I guess this ivitational is going to be good and exciting to watch. But a bit of me does think its rotten to use this as a qualifier for Providence. I mean its hard enough for players not in the pools to get good rank points to try and qualify for it without losing a slot to a well known invited player.

This has NOTHING to do with seeding for Providence. The players that make it to the finals of the invitational will play it out live in Providence in parallel to the Pro Circuit National Championship. They will exist as 2 separate competitions.

Can the OP or a moderator edit the original post with my clarification on invites? Seems like the same comments are happening over and over due to 30 pages of discussion based on only the first post.

Meh, I don't really like it that 6 of the european players are swedes. Doesn't feel really european, I don't see my region represented. It'll be an interesting tournament nonetheless, even though it won't be an extremely awesome tournament.

6/8 EU from sweden? I mean, they're each very good players, but even I would like to see some more variety. I suppose the invites are based of MLG performance/attendance, but then socke should have been invited.

Are you kidding? He's won 3 tournaments so far this year with top EU players attending, plus a 2nd place in CPL invitational, only beaten by marine king.

Sase is currently ripping up the korean ladder right now. He's won 14 of his last 16 ladder games and is currently ranked #19 GM in korea.
