Reminds me of the time Sjow and MorroW (preeeetty sure it was Sjow yeah) were in some finals and they decided to split winnings. If I remember a million people went crazy on TL and called them match fixers TT;;

just comes to mind

I think it was more than that, one of them let the other win because of some super stupid qualification system that would benefit them both if one person one several qualifiers or something like that.

EDIT: Yep:

So what happened? The event is a set of 18 “LAN” tournaments that will not be streamed. If you win 11 out of the 18, you get a very nice computer. As MorroW and SjoW are the only 2 pros competing, they plan to get to the finals every time. As they are equal in skill level, it is unlikely for one them to go 11 and 18. So they discussed making a pact starting that one will always forfeit; why? Because if they unlock all the prizes both of them can get a 1st place prize pool and come out winners.

If you took 2nd place and he took first, that should be close enough to "splitting the money", you both got a payday, maybe he felt guilty about making a shady deal that looks like match fixing, cry more.

Something isn't quite right. Fenix left Fnatic a few weeks ago in August, while that tournament was last year in December. If what TT1 is saying is true, then why did it take them 8 months to make a decision? Or was the tournament payed out only 7 or 8 months later?

payout was late, we recently got the money

First thing's first. TT1, why in the world would you ever wanna split money with someone and actually trust them? The first thing you should learn in life is never to trust anyone. IMHO, instead of putting all your eggs into Fenix's basket for taking first, you should of tried harder and won the first place yourself.

On the other hand, congratulations are in order for Fenix. This is a great pickup and I cannot wait to see how he's going to do.

Edit: ^^ I love you ToD.

Yes it is.

Do you guys even know what match fixing even is?

In organised sports, match fixing, game fixing, race fixing, or sports fixing occurs as a match is played to a completely or partially pre-determined result, violating the rules of the game and often the law. Where the sporting competition in question is a race then the incident is referred to as race fixing. Games that are deliberately lost are sometimes called thrown games.

TT1 and Fenix did not match fix, they split their winning. Match fixing IMPLIES you "fixed" a match aka per-determined results. Splitting money has nothing with per-determined results.

TT1 threw the match cause he assumed he'd be getting half the money. Thats match fixing. Intentionally losing is match fixing Dumbass

They should have tried a bit harder to keep him then. (I _think_ the reason for them not to engage further with keeping Fenix was due to lacking results from his side) But for those of us who has seen the recent GSTL knows that Fenix is back owning some nerdz again! Congratulations with joining IM! Have a good one

no dumbass, match fixing = setting things up so that one player wins. Anyone can decide to throw a game. If TT1 didn't throw the games, they would have still split their winnings.

They didn't plan for TT1 to throw his games, they only planned for the split aka NOT matchfixing

Congrats to IMFenix

Yah it isn't match fixing... and if people can apparently forgive Michael Vick for what he did I am sure people should forgive TT1 for what he did. His isn't even remotely comparable.

But yah it sounds like Fenix pulled a pretty shitty move. But this is still not likely the wisest place to debate it Trollllllllls too active
