The only mentions of OGN broadcasting the event so far come from the PlayXP article which announced the event, and from a news on a Chinese website. It should be noted that the PlayXP article was quoting the Chinese article though.

We have access to MLG and GSL. GSL used to block Chinese for a while due to partnership with NeoTV, but doesn't anymore. It's just that Chinese ISPs have really bad connections to GSL, so sometimes it streams fine, sometimes it's super laggy. MLG is the same.

Ok, I just found this article on PlayXP with more detail, and a better explanation. The tournament will be broadcasted on OGN in Korea and GTV in China. You might want to add this to the OP.
http://www.playxp.com/sc2/global/view.php?article_id=3349522
(The article states that this info is true as of August 31st)
Translation:
Prizes (main tournament) 1st place: 8 million won 2nd place: 5 million won 3rd/4th: 3 million won 5th-8th: 500k won
Prizes (exhibition matches) 1st place: 1.5 million won
Participants for the main tournament
WE.GIGABYTE.Loner
TyLoo.Infi
TyLoo.TH000
EH.GIGABYTE.Fly
Moon
Lyn
oGs.MC
oGs.NaDa
Participants for the exhibition matches:
WE.GIGABYTE.Sky
GTV.Miss
TossGirL (sorry guys, she's apparently not switching to Z)
MaRie
Partipants in other on-site events (I assume this means playing against fans or something)
WE.GIGABYTE.Sky
Moon
Maps
Ro8: 1 set Metalopolis 2 set Xel'Naga Caverns 3 set The Shattered Temple Ro4: 1 set Xel'Naga Caverns 2 set The Shattered Temple 3 set Metalopolis Finals: 1 set The Shattered Temple 2 set Metalopolis 3 set Xel'Naga Caverns
Map for exhibition matches: The Shattered Temple
Hope this clears things up. Sky, Tossgirl etc will only be playing in a separate side event, they're not gonna get thrown up against the likes of MC and Loner in the main tournament.

Off the top of my head, I'd say that the other on-site event might be a WC3 (or SC2) showmatch between Sky and Moon. It'd bring in a ton of (Chinese) viewers, that's for sure, and they've done this sort of thing before at the StarsWar tournament.

Okay so since this tournament is going to start in less than 36 hours, is there any possibility of forming a possible TL community meetup? Perhaps Friday night, there can be a gathering at some place in the city (possibly Sanlitun?). Anyone interested, please send me a PM,, if this TL meetup is gonna happen I need to know ASAP.
Also, if anyone is confused or whatnot, feel free to give me a call/txt me (pm me for my number). We can arrange a meeting time ~30 minutes before the tournament and go in together or something of the like.
Basically, PM me if you want to meet up or have someone to chill with during the tournament.
|
PM'd Warp, will probably bring a few newly arrived students (including myself). If you're thinking about going, the more the merrier!
