I believe he was referring to IdrA, HuK, and PuMa's level, not the rest of EG. But with Fenix in Korea it wouldn't be at all surprising if he gets good enough to come back at do better at events. Maybe Fnatic just didn't want to resign him to allocate more money toward some new big profile players.

LoL being picked up by MLG, and a multi million dollar prize pool announced for their next season. Evo had an awesome turn out. Tons of Sc2 news and let alone all the fantastic games that are happening like 24/7. But "esports" is obviously suffering.

That's why I wrote huk, puma and idra. I mean they've got pretty good lineup and prac house partners, why would they add fenix? Im not talking about machine, axslav, inc because when team leagues start kicking I cant see them playing in them.

I can't imagine any reason Fnatic would willingly part with a player who was good to start with, and has been showing such improvement in just a few weeks in Korea. The article makes it sound like Fnatic simply isn't willing to support players in Korea, which makes about zero sense to me. They make it very obvious that they are parting because Fenix results were lacking, or even that he is just not good enough: Unfortunately we need to be striving towards having the best players in the world to match our ambitions for our team. Fenix lately hasnt been able to prove he has what it takes. So its time to part ways to make room for some new talent to enter our team. And there are more quotes along the same lines.
