But he did destroy Destiny in the Showmatch, didn't he? If so, then he must've improved very much from the last time I saw him play.
What showmatch, I dont recall this and its not in TLPD either http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/sc2-international/players/1269_iNkA/games
Inka is a pretty mediocre player, not very active and has shown some pretty poor performances in MLG. He hasnt really had any personality recognition recently either. Only reason I can see for this invite is that he is friends with the NASL guys / EG. A good number of NASL season 1 invites were due to that as well. This type of favoritism really leaves me with little respect for this tournament.

Not gonna be as good as season 1, but this is still a great lineup of players.
Glad to see some of my favorite Protoss and Jinro+Strelok. No Nani/Thorzain is sad. =\
Looking forward to this season!

I have conveyed this message to the Chinese website, I believe XiGua will know this message

There should be a qualifying tournament for the casters too.

Are they seriously giving random reasons for the invites? lol...

Stephano, Nerchio, Major would have all been better choices over inka, imho.

These aren't really invites =P The only person who was invited really was HuK... everyone else played in the qualifying tournaments or were season 1 players.

I'm a little confused about the 'recent success' additions. I mean, I don't think it's a bad thing to leave a few spots open for invites each season, and I definitely think a spectator event like NASL is very wise to invite people it thinks will add to the entertainment value if they do have such spots. It's just that I was under the impression that NASL always said it was replenishing its ranks each season purely through the massive open tournament.
Has that position changed permanently, or is this just a one-off response to the last-minute withdrawal of the Koreans? Or were there always going to be such spaces and I just missed it? I'm just curious.
Regardless, it's good to see that performance in the TeSL is being rewarded. I'm definitely liking the co-operation between tournaments, particularly giving spots to players who perform well in other countries. I think it really helps to foster the spirit of a wider community.

So all season one players are going to return if they want to? Despite how poorly some played?

Sorry guys, but with hero there are 5 Liquids members in NASL, wasn't it maxed to 4players per team?

I'm pretty sure that they got rid of the whole team thing here and made it completely individual

Softball sweet.
It would be cool to see some more foreign invites (lol not american) Probably china as their metagame is so different then the rest of the world. Really like where NASL went this all this turning the bad situation into a really cool pr event.

No I dont think so. As I understand it, the vast majority of players who have remained from season 1 are those who did well in season 1 and were billed to remain in the NASL even before the Korea exodus. There seem to be odd exceptions like qxc but what can you expect when you get dumped by a bunch of the players who said they would play right as your league is set to start.
The remainder of the players being entered into season 2 appear (mostly) to be those who attempted to qualify for it. To think of these as purely invites is misleading because it seems atm like the NASL didnt just extend invites to any old person, but largely players who were attempting to gain entry to the league already.

I can read Japanese, and I have no trouble reading the Taiwanese versions of characters I know. I can't imagine Taiwanese are unable to read simplified Chinese, they're not that different. The only character that's even different between the two systems, as far as I can find, is the second syllable of 'Taiwan.'
(To be fair, it is kind of a silly mistake, you'd think whoever they had do the translation of "Taiwanese hope" would have been savvy enough to know that Taiwan uses a different character set than mainland China.)
