I've created something a bit different in terms of video recently! I grabbed Wolf, the new GSL commentator, and made him come to my house to play some StarCraft, and go over strategy with me. I taped a bunch of it, especially the parts where I questioned him and his thought process.
Its a pretty long video, hope you enjoy!
A Day with Wolf - Part 1 of 2
A Day with Wolf - Part 2 of 2
P.S, its really hard to answer high level questions while playing, so forgive pylon misses and the sort!
Congratulations to Wolf if he is a full time hire as a commentator for GSL, he's really deserved it with his great play by play, humor, and analysis of gsl games. Definitely been top tier in Code A and the Super Tournament

Its fine if its a single key, if its a macro (multiple commands on one key) its illegal, the only issue could be installing them drivers on multiple pc's and checking them before each game.
also thanks artosis for the vids and gz to wolf, ontop of that poor wolf getting beaten around must be hard to play with the pressure of been filmed and having to talk.
Congrats to Wolf on full time GSL gig, must be awesome to go from regular caster to the big time like that, thanks for the vids Artosis, seems like forever since your last one, need more! :D
Nice to see it!! He is not actually so good as you and Tasteless or Day9, but he is surely really good analizing the games and making good comments (also jokes)

a better camera with a tripod would be really helpful maybe a split screen of him talking/explaining and half the screen the actual game view of the game via replay or some video capture device
but other than that yeah I really like the idea of the video's but I'm guessing you won't be doing this with any koreans huh? or bring john the translator lol
It'd be cool to like take the audio of Wolf talking and then put it with you Obsing the replays of the games he's playing, however I'd imagine that's needlessly difficult, as the quality is still quite good. The discussion between the two of them made the video really engaging, and I can't wait to see you do this with some other players :D:D:D
I'd have prefer to not watch it because now I know that Wolf is pretty bad (no offense, he is not practicing as much as other players and being bad isn't a big shame) so I won't be as much interested in his casting :p

I forgot when are we casting your games with your insight while playing on the KR server?
Awesome stuff, even though wolf got rolled a few times, it really shows that he understands the game! Wolf's a great caster because he's a great player!
Wolf needs to learn what nuclear launch detected in Korean is =(. Such an epic strat by that terran though, props to him for nuking Wolf's deathball lol.
Wolf is a pretty good player, and winning one game, even with an all in with the FXOpen account is pretty good considering all the FXO team players are significantly better than wolf. From those games though, Koreans really do love their all-ins.
I really enjoyed this. Thanks for posting it, Artosis. Definitely like the format. Although, I don't know if doubling up some of the clips was deliberate or not.
If it comes down to chopping out games in future videos, I hope you show more losses than wins because they provide far more opportunities to improve everyone's game... or how to understand 'nuclear launch detected' in Korean.
It's incredibly hard to answer questions like "Why are you building a stalker instead of a sentry here?" and not miss a beat while macroing, and fully scout. Kudos to wolf and Artosis, I enjoyed this.
Thx for post , awesome stuff! Also, kinda sad that this has 5 pages of comments and some random drama thread will have 60-80 pages. So have a post for being awesome!
Has Wolf been hired as a permanent caster for code a? So many people congratilating him O.o If it's confirmed; congratulations Wolf. You have earned it.

If you know what your opponent is going to do and how they justify it, that is help enough.
I really like the show idea, however, I found the content to be somewhat lacking. I'm currently a mid master protoss on EU and I often feel like my mechanics are the only thing carrying me because my understanding of the matchups is so bad. Would be awesome if you could make it a bit more focused to master+ players and discuss a lot of specific timings and midgame plans.
For example, in my PvT I almost always open 3gate pressure expand which I have really refined, but then find myself pretty much improvising what do to next. Would be awesome if you discussed stuff like: When is charge needed What do you need if you don't go colossus instantly on 2base/when do you need to get colossus instantly When is +1 armor better than +1 attack How do you defend drop heavy play or ghost heavy play in the midgame How and when do you take your third with the different styles
I think the concept of playing games, filming it and discussing them is really good. I just wish the discussion was a bit more analytical and helping, maybe more postgame analysis and just "what's going through your head right now?" questions during the game.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it would be cool if it was more theory crafting/discussing about the matchups and gameplans, and then trying to execute them during the games while talking about the decisions you make that divert from your gameplan. So you could for example say something like "I'm going to go 3gate pressure expand into gateway heavy with upgrades + charge and eventually transition to HT and take my third" and then talk about the adjustments you do ingame depending on what you scout. Also talk about the strengths and weaknesses of the gameplan.
Artosis must have heard it from a Korean, and thought it was donkus, since it's pronounced ton-kah-tzu where the tzu is silent and the ton is usually slurred as well. Common mistake!
Great inspiration, thanks a lot! Love your commentaries anyway (both of yours, I guess) so this was an interesting new way of learning the game. I could have enjoyed a bit more interesting camera-work though; Wolf's ear is not all that exiting after 10 min... :-) All in all, good show and keep it up!
This is pretty awesome, if you could do this with the foreigners who come, team FXO, or even better, the koreans (with a translator) that'd be amazing =P
I liked it quite a bit, I specially liked you guys discussing the decisions Wolf made during some games, I would like to see more of that. Also, for people like Wolf it would be nice to see a more in depth interview about their starcraft related projects like managing FXO and stuff like that.
If Artosis and wolf can do some more of these that would be fantastic! I really like the questions like what do u think is happening and why, how to react. also the decision making and timing ect. Anyone can do build orders but what really improves players is the decision making and understanding of the game. This kind of thing really helps us protoss guys keep it up!
Shaky cam is alittle off putting tho, cant we have first person view in games and a overlay cam on you guys. Or day9 style, switching back n forth to ingame and webcam.
Only half of the reason why artosis is awesome is due to his incredibly analytic commentaries. The other half is because of community stuff like this. :-)
Just stumbled across this video. Thought it was funny at the 8min mark of part 1 to hear Artosis making fun of DRG, saying he doesn't belong in code A. He was a little off on that prediction

Artosis makes ALOT of bad calls, like its unbelievable how bad, think he has said something bad about lots of up and comers in the past and always bad mouths players then they make the final
