I will watch this, will be fun to see how much he actually knows about the game and if he will play his character as the commentator, or just do it more casually as 'himself'.
Hahaha oh man, Pure Pwnage brings back so many fond memories. ^^
I'm looking forward to this! I wonder how much he actually knows about the game. I don't mind if he's at an Artosis or TotalBiscuit level of knowledge (or somewhere in between) - I just like casters with good voices - which Jeremy has.

Hopefully he does a good job. =)
Are you really putting Artosis and TB on the same level when it comes to game knowledge?..
Also, love PP and jeremy so will definetly watch this
Shame they never got to finish the web series. The TV series was ok, but didn't have the same "magic" to it that the web series had. Although there were some definite laugh out loud moments in the TV show too.
Hopefully I'll be able to catch this. Jarett is a huge RTS fan, he also wishes he'd made Jeremy a Starcraft player but when they first started PP he was heavily into C&C generals. But on the TV show they went back and made him a SC player. So's probably very knowledgeable about it. Be awesome if he casts in character but I've got a feeling he won't.
Loved these growing up as a young nerd in highschool. FPS Doug only lived a 5 minute walk from my house and I got to meet the crew at lanageddon (some of my friends are in Lanageddon video in quite a few parts, even after the credits which fyi he bailed on the BW game). I will certainly tune in just to see teh pwnerer cast some SC2.
omfg just watched all the Cooking with Daves. They are AWESOME. I cannot believe I missed them. So damn good.
Pure Pwnage was great for the first few (web) episodes, liked the documentary style, before it went downhill. I digress, this is still interesting news, hes a pretty likable guy as long as he doesn't cast in Jeremy voice. ^^

No, I meant Artosis is at the top of the knowledge pillar and TotalBiscuit is at the bottom. Hence my "or somewhere in between" part, I was referring to Jeremy being half way inbetween TB and Artosis when it comes to game knowledge.
My wording was a bit unclear though, sorry about that.
I've been watching this since it came out on youtube :p These guys are so funny. I'm going to watch this, and while I wish he used his persona in the cast (calling people bad and a nub and stuff) It's going to be interesting to listen/watch.
Haha, he kinda toned down his character for this. I wonder if he's actually gonna cast in character. It would be awesome for PP fans, but I suppose it would be kind of annoying to people who didn't watch the show.
This is awesome, I loved purepwnage, so i'll definitely watch this. Would love to see Jarett get involved with the SC2 community, as he was always portrayed as an RTS gamer.
holy crap i remember watching his videos back when they first started coming out... he is hilarious and love the character he put himself into.. glad to hear from other people in this thread that hes actually a nice guy, was hoping he wasnt as stuck up as "jeremy" appears... looking to see what he can do!
<3 PP ! I remember my friend showing me a clip of this at a LAN event like 3 years ago. Then I had to watch them all when I got home. This will be awesome!
Woah wasnt expecting this. Seems PP let the forums die quite a while ago (I'm one of the last posters there). Still good effort on them doing something like this.
This is the best Starcraft related news since....yah it's the best Starcraft related news, basically ever....n' stuff.
As a long time die hard PP fan, the mysterious breakup of the crew left me head scratching. I am soo excited to finally see a live sign out of Jarett again! This will be soo casual and fun, and it's for a good cause. So perfect Saturday evening coming up.
I am looking forward to this so much. I was a bigtime fan of PP and all of their work, especially Dave's Pro At Cooking.
Afaik he's been an avid Starcraft player and there's a lot of references to it in his TV show, so even if he's not the best analytical caster I've no doubt he'll make one of the best color casters yet.
Sweet, the original PP series was awesome along with the TV show they did, so happy to see him still around doing these kinds of things! Definitely going to make sure i don't miss this.
Super pumped for the Halifax event. I always end up having to be out of town for cool stuff like this, but I'll going to mark that day and make sure I can be there!
His tv series kinda sucked imo. Internet series was hilarious loved it. I am very interested to see how his cast will go . Is he going to be in character or actually taking it seriously. Or both? Either way it will be entertaining.
My mind.. is.. blown!! I'm still hoping for a season 2 of the TV-show Pure Pwnage and more of Pro At Cooking. Man, I used to watch those shows all the time! This is just awesome!
Awesome! I loved Pure Pwnage, the web series and the tv show. I was lucky enough to meet the guy last August at Fan Expo, and he knows his stuff about SC. We talked for a good 10 minutes about how they should add more leagues (this was a year ago) above diamond, and about our favourite builds. Super cool guy!
Im a huge fan of Pure Pwnage from way back in 2004 when it all started. Will defiantly be watching this. Hope he uses his Jeremy persona while casting.
YESSS, ive been a huge fan of PP right from the get go and i love how hes staying connected with frag for cancer, i remember him doing something with it a few years back was amazing. PP for life
Being a CS player when PP hit and "Boom Headhsot" went viral was ... I don't know how to express it. You couldn't go anywhere without someone saying it, spray tagging it, took the game by storm. I know a guy a bit like doug, he gets so animated when describing things he did in game. Right down to the gun noises as he re-enacts whole battles with his hands.
I still have my Boom Headshot T-shirt from the noob store. (The one with the D Eagle headshot logo) have the first web series on DvD too. Much love for the PP crew.
Reading this thread just made me rewatched a bunch of the old web episodes, and they're still making me laugh until I get tears in my eyes. Really looking forward to this.

The characters grow on you, it's kinda like when I first saw Trailer Park Boys, I thought it was a really stupid show, till I watched it more and more, and yeah...

There was no "mysterious breakup" of which you speak... What happened is, one of the cast members died in a car accident some winters back... After that, they started working on the TV series, which didn't have the highest ratings and was cancelled.
I personally can't wait to see his casting. I had the honour of meeting Jarett Cale at last year's Fan Expo. He's an awesome guy. One of those "Yeah people know me but I don't give a fuck" kinda people.
I can't wait to get a pic with him again this year. I swear to god, I was more excited to get his and Geoff's signatures last year than I was to get Stan Lee's.
oh man this is going to be sweet, the shows flipping hilarious and Jeremy is even funnier. i think he dose play Sc2 because he played BW irl, so his game knowledge might be not too shabby. PP was my first introduction to gamer culture

That's what happens when a few suits want you to make a few compromises to make the show fresh and cater to a more general audience. I've had so many run-ins with executives that it is a wonder how I get anything produced in this day and age.
As much control you think they had. They had very little.

Yeah I wouldnt be surprised if that were true. What irks me as a fan is that they actually had an ep where Jeremy tells them to lick his balls because of that very loss of control, and then they did it. Not to mention their reaction to criticism on the site was less than stellar. Oh well.
His "debut" in shoutcasting, hopefully that implies that he is looking into doing more of it, always had a good laught with PP, I'm sure his casting won't disappoint.
Ah, this brings back a lot of memories. I remember helping PP host their first Teamspeak chat with the community back in the day. I believe I still have some screenshots somewhere.

I was talking about what happened after all that, because there were rumors about them continueing the web series after the TV show got cancelled, but then Geoff just left without giving any explanation to the fans, who were eager to know what happened. And so all hopes for them to pick up the web show again was shattered. They just stopped posting news, moderating the forum and left PP as an open book, basically. Atleast that was my impression.
Exciting! This thread reminded me of the show and I downloaded all the episodes and am watching through them now. Thanks for the reminder, I love the show and the guys behind it, wish I could see it return someday.
I grew up with Pure Pwnage. The show really had an impact on me. Who else almost cried watching episode 9 ? It's really too bad Jarret and Geoff can't put their differences aside and continue working together. I'm glad Jarret is still doing stuff from time to time, and I can't wait for the shows you were talking about in some interview.
Great news to say the least, like many other here I kinda grew up with the magic series Purepwnage and its actually hands down the best series / movies (if you so will) I've ever seen by far and they've been a huge impact on my life in general. Love everyone that participated in the series from the bottom of my childhood memories, although I must admit that its such a huuuuge shame that they kinda wont continue with it at all in any form afaik?
Anyways, will definitely be tuning in to check it out laters!
I really wish they were still doing the web series. I actually just found out in this thread that Geoff decided to walk away from the series, or if those details aren't exactly clear/correct, that the show got cancelled and that they won't continue it online. It was such a great piece of gaming culture and I completely loved the show. I hope at some point the pick it back up. :'(
Edit: As for the casting, of course it is great news and I'm looking forward to it.
Awesome news, I will definately be tuning in! He's normally a funny guy on the set, but I wonder if he's good at improvising or if it's just him following the script.

It's been repeated time and time again that most of the web series was improvisatory, with only a few guidelines as far as the story goes.
For those interested, he has done a shoutcast with Kyle before, but it was for CnC Generals Zero Hour. After doing some searching around on the internet I was unable to find it, but perhaps somebody here has it or knows where to find it? I know one of the players in it was Fox333.
One thing I do remember of the shoutcast is that it involved the phrase "tighter than a nun's cunt" to describe one of the player's base setup/defenses.
Y'know sometimes people ask me y'know like "What's your religion and stuff?" And I'm like "y' know it's like RTS." Uh, and they're like, "What's that?" And I'm like, "Y'know it's kinda like, kinda like Buddhism."

I would actually prefer if he didn't cast "in character", but rather cast it as himself but with some humor added in (wherever/whatever he'd normally do though).
Simply because if he didn't put on an act it would seem more like he took it seriously and perhaps like he would consider getting more into the SC2 casting scene.

I doubt he'll be casting in character. From what I've seen and heard, PP is on the back burner indefinitely. They have 3 more stand alone videos to release, but other than that don't expect to see Jarrett in his Jeremy character anytime soon.
The TV show was actually awesome, so funny. Only people I hear say it was bad haven't seen it lol.
Interested to see how this goes, thought about it a few months back that it was funny he hadn't come out with anything, given how he was supposed to be an RTS player.
This is awesome news, and I am so excited. I was very disappointed when the pure pwnage series was indefinitely suspended, so it's really great to see Jarrett again! Winning! <3333
Definitely will tune in, if I'm online then. If not, hope there will be VODs. Somehow I'm actually not surprised that Jeremy would support a charity. Behind the whole pwnerer act there have always been hints that these folks are socially concerned.

Jarett Cale has promised PP fans a finale episode to the web series, we just have to wait, because he's been really busy with other projects...
This is such great news, I am a huge PP fan and I enjoyed both the web series and the TV Series, I've been on the forums for a good ammount this summer and once I saw the topic ,, The State of PP" on the forums I knew it was going to be bad, and it was. Now I have hopes that Jarret will enter the SC2 scene and become something like a caster. I'm just so excited Jarett is actually doing SOMETHING

He promised to release it a long time ago (he worked on it himself). Somehow I think that it just didn't cut it and that unless Geoff returns to finish the web series, we've probably seen the last of PP.

I actually laughed pretty hard at that too. Don't get me wrong, TB is great at what he does, but that's a bit of an unintentional jab at everything Artosis has done.
I LOVED PP for so long, till they got their TV show deal, then it felt kinda wierd, but obviously still good. Very excited for this. Can't Wait!
I remember Jarret saying in an interview that he had a lot of respect for a lot of the Korean StarCraft progamers, making references to Jaedong and others. I have a feeling that he is well aware of the Brood War scene, and thus is well aware of the game mechanics.
This translates to SC2, and no I am not trolling, as if you understand BW well, commentating SC2 is not all that difficult. You understand the importance of a strong econ, map control, unit compositions, etc.

If I remember correctly, Jarret actually also played the SC2 beta and commented about it on the Pure Pwnage site. I think he plays SC2 still, not sure about his league/skill though.

Really impressed with the casting, Jarett really knows his stuff. Quite a relaxed style by both commentators. Enjoying it, the games are a little bit lower level than GSL/MLG stuff, but it's all good.

From Ian B., FragForCancer Director of P.R. (Halifax Divison) Absolutely, the VODs of the matches will be available. We'll post it up on the main site and on Facebook!
EDIT: I see Pe[N]guiN just posted as I was posting that the VODs (or VOD rather) are available now.
Cast was awesome, hopefully he continues to do more casts in the future. Was a bit nervous to start but you could tell he was enjoying it, and is quite knowledgeable on the scene. I was impressed anyway
Is there a way to watch the vods of this if we missed the stream? I can't find it anywhere on their website and I would love to still see this. I don't mind buying a ticket if I have to.
Edit: I'm an idiot, I scrolled up and saw that the vods will be available. SORRY!
