Considering he played in the most recent code A tourney and got to the round of 16 before losing to the eventual winner of the tournament, yes?

Sounds like a different operating model, but it could work if it truly takes off.

For example Sheth does his own independent thing, but maintains ties with pro-guilds/organizations. It could be a win-win situation but may need someone like Sheth to lead the way.

- "work from home" model, where Sheth practices on his own time, does his own streaming, does by and large his own self-promotion
- is commissioned to play in tourneys by(FOR EXAMPLE), groups like say FXO, EG, the list goes on.

If you think about it, it would seriously OWN to be your own man, work your own hours, and yet be called in like an assassin or hero-for-hire come tourney time.

Sheth might be onto something immense here.

Until you realise that every other bugger is training out there for 7+ hours a day with a team of other professionals around them to help them improve and discuss their game constantly.

It is like saying "I want to be the best swimmer in the world. But I don't want to train much or have a coach." Hey it sounds great but natural talent only gets you so far. Because there is others out there who have natural talent and are putting in more effort.

I like Sheth don't get me wrong. But the scene seems to be turning quite high demand wise. You can't just say I will win NA tournaments when Koreans keep coming over for everything.

He was seeded and won 2 games and lost 1. I wouldn't say that proves he is Code A quality.

I would say winning games within Code A makes him Code A quality. Am I missing something here?

What you are missing is how small of a sample size that is.

I'm willing to bet there are many masters players who can even luck out a win in code A.

Obviously not the case with Sheth, but I hope you get my point.

If playing in, and having a certain amount of success in, the exact tournament you're referencing isn't enough to prove to you that he is of the quality to play in the tournament I'm not really sure what to tell you.

He was seeded, yes, but he secured a spot in the next code A had he taken the opportunity. I'm not sure how much more proof is possible.

I think actually qualifying through Code B and/or getting at least to the up/downs would prove that. Sheth just proved he can beat San (just) in San's worst match up and Sheth's best.

Sheth did okay in Korea. He didn't do well, he didn't do really badly.

San's worst matchup is PvP by far

Statiscally his PvZ is almost equally as bad.

http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/sc2-korean/players/1853_San

He's pretty much a PvT sniper, but there's so many Terran's in Korea that you mostly play Terran's and no one notices he can only play one matchup.

sad news and good news. Sad news because FXO loses a very good player. Good news because it's better for Sheth to go to a team he's more fit for, and for FXO it's good to have a more united team

The fact that they're still friends is good too. Would be horrible if he left on bad terms... then again, it's Sheth. He CAN'T be on bad terms with anyone - except severe dumbasses.
