Unfortunately I don't think Sheth has what it takes to be a true progamer, which is a shame because I love him as a player. I don't have what it takes either, so I respect that.

I really wish teams would stop giving players half-information, or even misinformation as it feels in this case.

If it was a strong possibility that Sheth would be leaving the team, don't tell us that he will still be part of the team.

He's still part of the team until a contract ends or is terminated. To say otherwise just creates needless drama and lots of discord for no real purpose. That's why it's standard practice.

Uh I'm pretty sure the contract is being terminated on mutually agreed upon terms.

Hasire is talking about BoSs' post from a few weeks ago. He's saying he wishes that companies wouldn't say "X person is still with the company" when they may or not be on their way out. Which is what I was commenting on.

Now with the acquisition of fOu, their plans are likely to be even more Korea-centric ( or at least Asia centric) and Sheth who much prefers to see his families and friends often and dislike pro-house environment won't be able to contribute much in the Asia/Korea scene.

I thought the point of the FXO/fOu merger was to make both teams more international, not more Korea focused.

This really does feel like a situation of "Well now we have Koreans, so we can dump our star player who didn't want to live in Korea".

Also, are we being expected to believe that the FXO/fOu merger wasn't basically done by the time NASL finished? I find it hard to believe the two teams would start up talks on this level, work out the financials, and come to agreement in about three days [July 18 -> July 22].

If anything, it is more likely to believe that Sheth knew about the merger, didn't like what the team would become, and decided to go back home. Which just leads back to my original point, FXO just BS'd us about Sheth's status with the team.

Lol, nice one.. I'll contact TMZ with that right now.

Everyone knew about the merger, FXO is not and will never be korean orientated as a location. We have what I would call a "Branch" there. And thats just because of my own opportunistic personality. It wasn't planned at all.

I do not see the US being the centre point of e-sports. Thats true, but I don't see it in korea either. But at the same time, people should respect korea for a bunch of things, 1) its history and 2) its talent. There is no harm as a pro gamer spending some time in korea. It helps people to understand the requirement to be the best.

Some people do not wish to be the best and thats fine. But FXO is in the business of creating the best possible.

NOTE: THis is not relevant to Sheth, this is part of my explanation why korea is what it is.

The "center" of Esports is going to be whatever location is holding the big event that Weekend. Most of it will be based around Internet connections & streaming (i.e. TV, just like American Football is really based on TV), as MLG & Dreamhack well proved. Teams will just need "home bases" as well.

Just wanted to point out that in the other thread about Sheth leaving Korea, a lot of people were like :

"nah it is okay FXO is okay with it"

Seems that FXO is not totally agree with it finally

Since we're now going to get into a long discussion about the "center" of E-sports, let me point out the biggest elephant in the room: Where is the World Cup "centered" out of? The answer is "on TV".

Every 4 years, the World Cup is the biggest media event of the year, and by a wide margin (assuming no insane disasters /knock on wood). But it isn't "centered" anywhere. The World Cup shows up somewhere every 4 years and holds the tournament. For those few weeks, that location is the "center" of Football (soccer) for that time. When it's over, the "center" moves somewhere else.

We're already seeing this with SC2. Dreamhack, IEM, MLG and GSL are all held in *very* different parts of the world. Yet, for those weekends, they become the "center" of the SC2 world. We've got a week until MLG Anaheim. All of SC2 will be focused on Anaheim for that weekend. (The fighting game community will be focused on EVO over in Las Vegas that weekend) Somewhere in the middle of the night, a lot of us will tune over to the GSL finals, which will be the center for the few minutes it takes NesTea to win his 3rd title.

This is simply going to be the future. Well, it's already the present, actually, and likely to get a whole lot bigger, at that.

Hi Guys,

It is very sad for me to announce that FXO and Sheth have parted ways on mutual grounds.

FXO as an organisation has a vision, and Sheth as a player and person has a vision, and these two do not coincide.

Sheth will remain a friend of mine, and we are supportive of each other. However we feel it best to end our business relationship.

I look forward to seeing sheth at major tournaments and wish him the best of luck in his journey.

Yeah lets just cut the only one of the fxo guys that made code a lol :D smart choice lol

You mean the Code A spot he was given?

lol u

He means after getting his Code A spot, proving that he was Code A material and making it to the Ro16 and losing to the same person that won the whole tournament.

Come on.

So... Because he won 1 bo3, you're saying his the only code a material when qxc went 1-2 to DRG in the qualifiers?

His hardly code A material, especially with his mentality

so where is the center of e-sports then? on the moon? I think if not korea, the USA is the best place. Maybe europe but I don't know, USA seems like the best option there is.

Tbh I think Europe will be a very strong contender for the "esport paradise". We have so many semi-big tournaments. Dreamhack, Assembly, Homestory cup, IEM and many more that are being overlooked but they still have a rly good price pool.

Just look at: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=245221

Two tournaments that most ppl haven't heard of.

Medion Trophy:
+ Show Spoiler +
Stephano - €1,500 + €1,300 in Prizes
Naama - €700 + €1,000 in Prizes
AureS - €300 + €200 in Prizes

Masters des Jeux Vidéos:
+ Show Spoiler +
Stephano - €2,500
KenZy - €1,200
AureS - €600

Those 2 tournaments are two tournaments that were played in France between July 1 – July 14.

In September there's a tournament in Sweden that no one have heard of that is having a price pool of: ~3200 $.

The thing that US is doing better is that they have bigger online tournaments. NASL, IPL, EG masters cup and many more. But when it comes to LAN events I gotta give it to Europe.

SO SO many tournaments all the time!!!

Sheth is very overweight, its only natural that he couldn't keep up with living in a practice house enviroment and wants to go back to "easier" tournaments/enviroment overall. Just laying out da facts, I have huge respect for fat people. Can't really imagine what they go through every day.

I wonder which team will pick him up? Players at his caliber don't stay free-agent long.

I'm sure he'll have a lot of offers soon...

I don't think he'll go to either Reign or EG, as they seem to both be going the team-house route and it seems he wants to stay home with family and friends (and there's nothing wrong with that choice! it's good that he has his own priorities in order)

I would think a team like Fnatic or complexity would be good fits for Sheth.

Either way... best of luck to Sheth and FXO in the future!

Hmm I definitely had a feeling Sheth may have been wanting to leave the game after he describe his experiences living in the gom house, I guess he just didn't get use to it and perhaps he and FXO had different views on things which led to this.

I am sure he will find a great time who will want him and fit his own views. Best of luck Sheth!
