So puma is gonna train with EG?
Scary considering the results we have seen from NA players... good luck to Puma.

Sure there was no contract, but it's not the way things are done in Korean culture. The Coach fully said that if EG contacted him first, he would have gladly negotiated something to let Puma join EG because he wants what is best for Puma, but EG went behind their backs so he feels there is a lack of respect, and doesn't believe e-sports should be like this. A player signing should be more professional, instead of relying on a legal loophole to sign players without any repercussion. If he really wanted what is best for puma, he would not be upset about this at all. Puma got a great deal out of this, as did EG, the only party that suffered was TSL. Also, just because it is korean culture does not make it superior. Its kind of ironic how people talk about the trust and faith that korea is supposedly built on, yet you are not free to state an anonymous opinion on the internet. You pretty much failed to understand Lee's comments. This is the difference between a person running away from home and sending a letter to his parents a week later, or just being honest with them in the first place. Why shouldn't he be upset? And what are these anonymous opinions people aren't free to state on the internet? That's utterly wrong and ridiculous. If you're referring to the SlayerS_Jessica/Eve thing, it's 100% clear people can say whatever they want on the internet until they are putting the lives of others at risk, for which there is already a serious precedent. It's no different than yelling "fire" in a theater. Listen to Artosis talk about that on SotG if you don't believe it-it's around the 30 minute mark where they discuss Major first. In order to sign up for most things internet-related in korea, you are required to provide something called an SSN (I think its called this), that can pretty much track you directly to your address. This means that you are not anonymous on the korean internet. I've heard the SotG and I'm not condoning the responses involved in the whole SlayerS_Jessica situation, I am simply stating the irony in the belief that korea is based around trust when the government does not have enough trust in its citizens to allow them to maintain anonymity. My other point was that Coach Lee is simply playing the victim. If all he truly cared about was Puma's best interest, then it should not matter to him how EG went about this. If he did feel disrespected then he should have remained silent about it or addressed it with EG internally, as all this has done is given Puma and his new team a bad public image. You should not compare this to a family situation. Puma was with TSL for about 10 months, not as their son but as essentially an employee, if the team is truly ran in a family manner, then Puma would not have left.
What you're failing to reason is how Coach Lee can be angry at EG and still want the best for Puma. Instead you're making him a drama queen, which is absurd.

All the marketing executives of Research in Motion are getting sniped by Samsung (a KOREAN company).Show nested quote +As RIM engages in layoffs, weathers investor criticism, and struggles to reassert itself in the mobile industry, the company may be facing something of a brain drain: a senior product manager for RIM’s PlayBook tablet, Ryan Bidan, has jumped ship to Samsung Mobile to service as director of product marketing—at least according to his LInkedIn profile.
The move comes barely a month after RIM’s chief marketing office Brain Wallace left the company for Samsung; that defection, in term, followed only a few months after the departure of Keith Pardy, who had headed up RIM’s BlackBerry marketing efforts. At the time, RIM did not announce a replacement, instead indicating co-CEO Jim Balsillie would be taking on more promotional duties.
The move comes after the lackluster launch of the BlackBerry PlayBook, which has so far failed to meet sales expectations and has generally been greeted with half-hearted reviews that the device simply was not ready for market.
Industry watchers speculate RIM may be in for more high-level defections as the company continues to engage in layoffs. Dissatisfaction within the company seem high; RIM recently had to take the unusual step of publicly responding to an open letter, apparently from a high-level RIM exec, outlining eight steps he or she believed would be critical to turning the company around. The author of the letter claimed to be articulating concerns from a “huge percentage” of RIM’s employee base. When your company is imploding, other companies will come and make offers to your talent. It's just business.
Wow, that really weakens the cultural differences argument.

Personally, I believe that Puma is is own person. While the coach has every right to be upset that Puma took EG's offer, the fact of the matter is the Puma made that choice. If you did not sign a contract with him, legally speaking, it is their fault. It happens in baseball all the time. If anything, it shows that starcraft is a sport and that players need to be signed for allegiance.

I'm very happy for Puma and I hope he doesn't get too much hate for moving to EG. I'm really surprised that he wasn't contracted to TSL, especially after hearing Artosis talk about contracts on SotG.

Problem is, the self-exposing he's doing is contributing to TL through a skill that is in high demand on a site like this. Related note: Milkis, will you be translating SirScoots's comments into English when he issues them? Not really, it disincentivizes using Twitter, or at least reading random fucktard comments on Twitter, since he gets TONS of praise on TL for translating. Oh, no doubt. I'm not criticizing the TL community for abusing Milkis. It's just that his TL work and his Twitter are pretty strongly intertwined. And at times, there may be people who have good things to say to his on Twitter, things which if Milkis wishes to read, hemust wade through idiocy first.
Plus if those people aren't (or weren't, as is more likely the case) members of TL, I'd be fairly surprised.

Maybe EG will actually win something now. Probably not. But maybe.
With that being said. Eg is even more shady forcing people to watch their terrible productions in order to hear an answer.
Want an explanation? Have a seat. Watch some commercials. Make us some money. Then you'll get your explanation.

He is being a drama queen in a sense. His whole argument is based around respect instead of real contractual obligations. His original statement makes it seem as if Puma was a contracted player, which we later found out he isn't. Now he is making claims that EG has stated that Puma approached them and that they are lying. When in fact, EG has not said a thing about this issue other then the fact that machine is playing DoW.

I hate to quote a movie like You've Got Mail but..... It's not personal; it's business. EG made a business decision. End of story.

I don't understand why people are upset. EG made a business decision to go after an employee. Stuff like this happens.
Coach Lee did not have any contracts or w/e to stop Puma from talking to EG, and obviously Puma did not feel the "father/son" loyalty was enough to keep him from more money, so he legally accepted the offer. Maybe I don't have all the facts, but it seems like EG was just doing business and Lee is bitter.

if eg has him stream and release a replay pack all will be forgiven and forgotten. I never had a problem with anything that has gone on but come on I wanna break down this dudes play and TSL wont let me do that

Bah dont try this crap. Where else would he announce this decision and their reasoning. Sports use press conferences that are planned and have sponsors everywhere whenever something impactful happens. Just because you don't like Weapon of Choice doesn't mean its the wrong platform for them to speak on
