True, but I think the main reason Tyler is underrated (if that is even the proper word for it) is because in SC1, there where not nearly as many competative players and now that SC2 has exploded, his skill is not nearly enough to match all these new monsters that has shown up. I also think this is one of the main reasons he is so bitter on the TL comunity.

On SotG he spoke about getting in shape and use his multitasking and also rely on the opponent not being able to multitask as good as he, but in all honesty, this is not a problem for most competative top players in SC2. I think that Tylers worst enemy is Tyler self. He can have great builds, timings and game sense, problem is that there are a huge number of people that also has this and to large extent even surpasses Tyler in this department. Question is if he wants aknowledge this or just simply live in a bubble for the rest of his carrer?

From what I understand he's got a lot on his plate besides sc2 right now. When you have other priorities in life, it's hard to put in good, quality practice. His mind is in tip top shape it's just his mechanics that are holding him back.

Nerchio, easily one of the better players worldwide.

That's a good pick. He's tearing up the smaller cups around Europe but doesn't play in many big tournaments, so he's not that famous. Similar for Stephano (even though he recently played very well at the Homestory Cup).
This post is clearly not a hurr, as you can see from the graph, the durr never intersects with the derp.

Grubby & Moon is obligatory underrated in this community unfortunately. Other then that, Byun is definitely an underrated guy, inka looks really good as well.

Grubby and Moon are both very inconsistent, while they were very consistent in Warcraft 3. I do hope that they learn to play more consistent in this new game.

i think kiwikaki doesn't get the results or the respect for his skill level (especially recently).

I always thought that dimaga was underrated as well, but I haven't seen him play in months...which is too bad :/

There's a lot of Europeans that are really not getting their name out their.

HasuObs comes to mind, as do Satini and XlorD.

There are also a lot of Zergs doing a lot better than I expected in the GSTL, in particular BboongBboongPRIME.WE did really really well vs oGs. NSHoSeoSeal and MVP_Monster are also really solid Zergs.

HasuObs got his name out in the TSL. I had never heard of him beforehand, but his stellar performance there made me a fan instantly.

Nestea!

He is so insanely good. It is just wonder that he has only two GSL titles. He's potential is much more than what we see.

I was thinking recently what it would be if they let Nestea participate in some foreign tournament. Let say MGL Anaheim. You think there is a person capable of taking even a game of him?

You posted this right after he beat HongUn didnt you?

Actually i was spoiled by day9 5 minutes before i see you post in here I didn't know when i posted it.

But he is so insanely sick. I don't think even if we realise how good is he. This guy plays in a way that i don't see even for a second how he can loose a game. It is just amazing. Considering that he even plays one of the most difficult race (or at least the race that have hard time on top level) in a amazing way. I so much enjoy him.

I feel like Tyler is pretty underrated at the moment. I know he hasn't been doing great at LANs in recent times but he was a great BW player and if he practiced more he would certainly be a much more formidable player.

It's annoying when people see Tyler and just BM the shit out of him because he hasn't been doing well for. For example when he was helping HuK in the booth at DreamHack, half the chat was saying "WHY IS TYLER THERE?!?!?" or "IF HUK WANTS TO WIN HE SHOULDN'T LISTEN TO TYLER". Then he listened to Tyler, and won. Tyler knows whats up and I think when he puts more effort and heart into it, he'll be a real tough player and we'll see him take some tourneys.

Maybe. I think his concerns over playing "safe" are actually hindering his play. If he was more willing to be aggressive or cut corners he would have better results.

Dunno why people keeps saying Tyler is underrated, there are several other players who did better than tyler at broodwar who are doing even worse at SC2

I don't think this thread is about potential, it's about current skill level via perception

Thank you. The fact that so many people here are saying that Tyler is underrated actually shows that he is overrated. Underrated doesn't mean "your favorite player" or "who has the most potential." Everyone here who's been saying Tyler is underrated even admits to the fact that he's not very good right now.

deezer is actually underrated cuz of all this other attention, but he's a surprisingly solid player when not accused of stuff.
