As soon as a foreigner joins a korean team or beats koreans we get excited, goes for women as well. And just like teams were recruiting foreigners in BW and OGS "merging" with TL in SC2 teams will recruit women. Why? Because it gives diversity, gives more fans someone to recognize themself with and it promotes that part of the scene.

She's on a pro-gaming team, so saying, "Only one or two of you could beat her" doesn't mean shit. None of us are on a Korean pro-gaming team, the question is how she compares to other competitors, not to people on TL who aren't on a pro-gaming team. What does it matter if she could beat all but two of the people in this thread? Only like two people who posted are pro-gamers. When people say she isn't good right now, they don't mean compared to their NA bronze league asses, they mean in comparison to other pro-gamers, other SlayerS players, and any other prospective pro-gamers.

Anyway, I think instead of writing more on this I ll just summarize how I feel: - If shes legitimately talented, she doesnt deserve all the backlash. - If she isnt any good, then we will find out eventually and people can heap shit upon Slayers as much as they want I guess... not that im super into the korean scene but i would imagine if she was 'good' this wouldnt be the first we (i) was hearing of her? just makes it difficult to believe boxer found her out of nowhere

You tell me she legitimately beat a top Masters (facing off GMs) while being in Diamond let alone Gold League. Bullshit.

If she's good and there's a camera involved you can bet there will be over 1k viewers constantly. But I don't think she's ready for the dreaded stream chat just yet.

Otherwise she will get and probably deserve all the "shit" she will get for getting special treatment. I don't think anyone can blame her for taking the opportunity though. I think if anyone on this forum was given an offer at SlayerS they would take it instead of saying "I'm not good enough for you guys" and declining. Yes, 100%. I honestly hope she is just some gamer girl that was "scouted out" by jessica and given an amazing opportunity, I know I wouldn't even give it a second thought if ever boxer sent me a message telling me he wants me on his team. (Just typing that makes me excited.) Hope it's not just a fixation on the fact she's female, i'll wait to watch her play to make any further judgements.

Haha I remember when SlayerS was first forming and the only requirement was to be in Diamond. I so badly wanted to apply lol.

There's only one way to find out if she's good or not, and that's to see her play. If she's not good, then I'm sure as she is Terran, BoxeR, MMA, GanZi, Ryung, Taeja and whatever other T lineup SlayerS has will help her become at least code a worthy.

At this point there's really nothing to say in regards to this pick-up in terms of skill or even potential skill, we'll just have to wait and see. Jinro basically sums up my view on the subject, if she's good then everyone being overly critical should feel like an idiot and this is a step forward as the next time people question the skill of a female pick-up, others will be able to point to her as a successful example. If she does poorly, people are gonna be pretty disappointed in SlayerS for the pick-up and it's a huge step backwards for women in the scene since the next time you see an announcement about a female pick-up, people are going to assume it's Eve all over again.

Except for the fact that both Huk and Jinro are above average performers in oGs(-TL), by some margin even. So it's not really the same thing at all.

she'll first need to have the ladder rank to qualify for Code B, then we'll see how well she does going through the Code B qualifiers inb4 her first round match is against DRG, Puma, or any other known beast player that is still in Code B if she is serious about playing SC2, the Korean SC2 environment/climate for competition is so intense though that I wouldn't be surprised if she was able to perform well in foreign online tournaments.
