As far as I understand, the only thing that's special about the captain is that you can't trade him... and since Huk is only one point, you can't trade him anyway (since there are no 0 point players).

If a player plays and loses it is just a 0. So, you can never go negative. So even if IM 4-0's every week... you can still be beaten in points by people who spread out their players, you know, having 6 people win in one week?
And btw, IM won't 4-0 every week... and they only play 5 out of 10 weeks.

After his performance at DH I'm gonna assume oGs will put him in their roster. 3 Keen - A very solid Terran who is worth much more than 3 points, I'm not complaining  8 LosirA - Second only to NesTea, he is definitely gonna put on a show in this GSTL season. 9 MC (captain) - Need I say anything? 4 NaDa - NaDa is a very solid and consitent player reaching the ro8 of Code S many times. Definitely a good pick up. 3 Sheth - Sheth will all-kill every team he plays and then individually apologize to each and every player for his heinous crime! 3 SuperNoVa - An underrated Terran who is going to be rising up soon. 3 Team SCV Life - Chosen mainly because I didn't have many points for a better team, TSL has a fairly solid line up and I'm hoping they do well. Anti Team7 aLive - I think aLive is a bit overrated and I'm not sure he will do too well. 2 Banbanssu - Not very good 4 Maka - Although he is super nice, he's dropped off recently and I haven't seen much great play from him recently.

The best 8/9 point player is Bomber.
MVP/Losira/ZergBong: they'll just cancel each other out. there won't be enough kills to go around. if i had to pick one, i'd choose losira. He gets played before the others. Zergbong is less favourable than MVP imo since he's terran.
Polt/MKP: same thing
DRG: he's simply not as good as Bomber
MC: his team is way too stacked. there won't be much for him to clean up
MMA: he's usually played in final boss role ala flash- won't be much left for him. also ryung/ganzi in front of him (played before him, taking kills away)

Based on the results of every major korean tournament,I think we can agree that Terran is the race with the most ''top quality'' players at the moment. So I made a all Terran powerhouse team,with 1 cost zerg and toss.
My captain is MMA,don't need to say more. Next I got some quality middle class like TOP,Ganzi and NaDa. My dark horses but players that can also produce wins are Boxer and Keen.
I'll dominate you guys,sry.

Dunno why so many are picking HuK, will he actually play this season of GSTL? Thought the liquid players said they wouldn't play unless it was for liquid or some such, though I could be horribly wrong

But anyways, if I was going to pick a 8+ point player, it wouldn't be NesTea or Mvp or Losira... because they can't all get wins. Much better to go with MMA or DRG (or even Bomber) because they are the sole ace for their team.

chose guineapig because randoms are so valuable in team leagues. Chose Hero because he is a steal at 1 point. Happy seems like a good IM player after his Code A run. J is also good and is a steal for one point. Chose Polt because he doesn't seem to have a weak match up and Puzzle is a beast and a steal for 2 points. My heart told me to choose Rainbow cause i still feel love for him from back in the beta but my mind is telling me to choose Keen. sC is overall a solid player aswell and i chose IM cause i cant see them losing.

Bomber: No suprise here. He has, in my opinion, the best TvT in the game, and he has the best ladder stats. He's definitely a superb player and I think is going to do exceptional.
Cezaane: He took a game off of NesYea in ZvZ. Nigh impossible, and it made me want to pick him. If he can do that, then surely he can play well.
FruitgDealer: Screw the haters, this man's high risk high reward play WILL start working again. I think it's just a metter of time (which he has taken) before he starts doing well again.
HuK: Naturally. An absolute steal for one point, if he doesn't get nervous he can do well.
JookTo: JookTo struck me as the most... well, striking of the remaining one pointers. I expect him to do decent.
MC: Is an absolute boss. How on earth can you not pick this guy? I think his slump is over, anjd I expect him to lead his team to victory, in additon to my thinking he will win the next GSL. Which is why he's my team captain.
NesTea: Which ever idiot at TeamLiquid put him at 8 points need to have an MRI.
Rainbow: Like FruitDealer, I think he's definitely going to shine again, just give him some time. I see lots of potential.
FXOpen: I had not points left. Sole reason why.

Huge upside, little downside imo. 9 Bomber (captain) + Show Spoiler +Is just a beastly player. Very few people in the tournament capable of taking him down, and nobody is ever a sure bet to beat him. Obvious and easy pick out of the expensive players. 2 CoCa+ Show Spoiler +Not a bad zerg, I think he's good for how low his value is. Capable of holding his own with the rest of the code A'ers who will be getting tossed about in the team league. 3 Keen+ Show Spoiler +Impressed by his run in Code A, and just overall solid play. Think he's gonna be very, very good in the future, and can definitely make a mark in the team league. Seems to be solid in every matchup, hard to snipe. 4 Min+ Show Spoiler +SlayerS will have to play their zerg eventually, and Min is pretty damn good. 2 TheStC+ Show Spoiler +Is really good and an easy pick. Insanely undervalued. 2 ViOlet+ Show Spoiler +Another undervalued zerg, imo. Violet is kind of inconsistent I feel like, but at his top end can be very dangerous to a lot of players. Possible ZvZ sniper. 3 Younghwa+ Show Spoiler +Doesn't really have a standout matchup, but doesn't have any he's abysmal at either. For whatever reason IM seems to throw him out there a lot in Team Leagues, so I figure he's cheap and will win some, lose some. 6 SlayerS+ Show Spoiler +What the hell, can't argue with results. They'll do well. 3 Choya+ Show Spoiler +Will lose badly to anyone who can successfully counter Gateway all-ins. 4 FruitDealer+ Show Spoiler +Is just a pretty mediocre Korean pro at this point I think, capable of going down to anyone in the team league. 6 Trickster+ Show Spoiler +Is on his way down, if you can kill a guy going blink stalkers, you can beat Trickster.
Rationale behind my picks in the spoilers. I think its a pretty solid team, might be a few throwaway picks because I was trying to fill the roster/max out points on solid players I know.

Comparing IM's GSTL 1+2 with Slayer's GSTL 2+3, where both teams played the same amount of series (i.e. both went to or won the finals), MMA played 9 games, while both Losira and MVP played 10. It might seem like MMA plays more games, but that's because he always plays in each series due to being saved for the ace match, while MVP and Losira might 3/all kill one team, and not play against the next team. In the end, they usually play a similar amount of games. MMA does have a higher win percentage than either of the other guys though.
Edit: Btw, NesTea is 1-1 in the GSTL, while Bomber is 2-3. Granted, Startale did poorly in the last GSTL, which coincided with Bomber's rise as a player, so his record shouldn't be taken too seriously. Nestea's record, however, should indicate that IM almost never plays him.
For those picking NaDa (as I see a lot of people are doing): the guy is 1-1, just like NesTea, with roughly the same amount of series played. Just some food for thought.

IM, even with such powerful players doesn't really all-kill. MVP and losira are solid choices if you've got the point to throw around, as I can see each of them playing in 4/5 games this season. Nestea is, of the three the most solid player imo - he's just a step ahead of every other zerg out there right now, but I don't see most teams going to the ace game against IM, so I don't think he's worth the points just on frequency of appearance. If they need a Z or T though, MVP and losira are the go-to-players, and they can be played early with the other, as well as nestea to back up.
I took losira over MVP because I didn't have the spare point, and I like zerg anyway.
Prime is not nearly as strong a team as "same thing" makes them out to be. One or both of these players will play often, with the other to back them up as they're both debatable aces atm.
I agree oGs is stacked. Five BEASTLY terrans (theStC, supernova, hyperdub, top and nada,) inca to snipe, zenio and the recently code A hero, and then MC to wrap it all up. This team is a monster; I have StC in there now because he was a cheap pickup who is supposed to be pretty ballin' right now, but I'm scared he'll be shorted playing time in favor of those other four ballers. MC won't often need to see game time - that's why I took oGs as my team choice.
MMA runs into the same problem. If it gets late rounds, the other teams already got a good TvT player out because they went through ganzi and ryung (ryung really being 98% as good as MMA and a SOLID pick himself) so I don't see him being worth the points.
Bomber vs DRG I'd have a hard time deciding. They each lean on their ace a touch, but I think that Tails, Violet and Keen are just a touch worse supporting class than July/curios, Ace/squirtle, and Rainbow. ST definitely needs to pick themselves up a more solid Terran though.

Ace because he's just flat out undervalued. He's better than squirtle, and will see the field first of the two of them imo. 2 points is a steal. Alicia is probably the best all-around protoss in korea behind whatever new gosu IM is going to pull out and MC, but IM needs to be renamed from incredible miracle to obnoxiously deep, and oGs (if they don't play HuK) does have a short list of protoss, but MC still won't play until the ace match. aLive is the best player on the TSL team by a mile - tester is a flop, clide is at this point a tastosis joke, killer is over rated, fruitdealer is a fan favorite but isn't performing. aLive is going to get out every time TSL plays, and he's going to get wins because he's actually solid. GuMiho is almost a stab in the dark for me - he hasn't had a lot of solo play in GSLs, but he's clearly one of the better players on fOu, and fOu has a bunch of early games. I'm really hoping he'll take enough wins to bump him to a five by week four, and I can trade him for thorzain after he's picked up a few points, and fOu has played most of their games. Hero is the most picked player besides DRG in these brackets, and I like having oGs players because I think they'll get a bunch of wins. Enough said about him. Losira for IM pick because I couldn't find the one point to jump to MVP, and because I like zerg. Any of IM's top three are solid picks (less so nestea because he won't need to come out often.) gambling on theStC. I hope he gets the playtime, but the other terrans on his team are beastly. If oGs comes out and actually plays HuK, I'll hope that theStC stays up one point on him and I can make that trade; if he doesn't, then I'll eat this one. He's a solid terran, it's just the number of them oGs has that scares me. lastly violet. I needed an MVP player, they need a zerg that's not DRG because he needs to come out in the ace match. fits for me, fits for them. He'll play and he'll do alright, and for only 2 points I can't complain about this one. anti team is tester, for previously mentioned floppiness. I'm not feeling great about the fact that he'll still be sent out, but he's important to soak up points for my anti-team, and I'm sure he won't have success. Wish I were wrong though - <3 tester since his "unbeatable" PvZ in the beta. Choya will go all in if he gets out, and he will lose doing it. HongUn is just the least impressive player of the 4's, and prime has anypro and a buttload of terrans to play first anyway.
