While Na'Vi is argueably the best team in CS 1.6 right now, team 2, 3 and 4 are all Swedish. I still think its fair to say Sweden is the better country overall in CS 1.6 (Fnatic, SK Gaming, Lions)

sweden was dominant in cs since 1999-2000 and when old timers finally washed up other suprising countries picked their 5 best players and started to hold first place for some time (poland/ukraine etc), but even if Sweden dont have 1st spot its still biggest/best cs country.

basically cs.1.5 and lower = sweden 1.6 from 2005-2006 till now different countries

US were good only in 2001-2002 when x3/3d were a force to reckon with. (arguably best match ever X3 vs NiP 2001 CPL winter final)

koreans were only good aimers(actually godly not good), their team play /strategy/ mind games lacked but maybe because of dominant starcraft culture

May contain errors as i played actively from 2003.

the best part of interview was certainly morrows opinion on the lack of hold position units in zerg arsenal, not that it wasnt previously stated by many gamers but morrow is always speaking so eloquently about new ideas.

Don't forget coL of 2006 when they dominated the world scene

Sweden's been always dominant in games that reward individual play (cs 1.6, sc2, CoD4) but always seem to be lacking in teamplay orientated gaming (CSS, HoN, WoW, LoL) which the Koreans seem to excel at (although they also dominate BW/SC2)

Very safe and bland interview. He seems too afraid to say anything is imbalanced, but he still says the lack of early scouting for Z is an issue.

I haven't gotten the impression that Morrow is the kind of person to hold back his opinion regarding balance issues, IF he thought there where any. Did you consider that perhaps he only said early scouting is an issue, because that's all he feels it is? An issue, not an imbalance? He probably just doesn't think there is any real imbalance, therefor calling the interview "bland and safe" feels odd to me. It's as if you are looking for justification for your own opinions regarding balance, and thus become dissapointed when he doesn't whine and cry in a fashion that would suit your needs and wants.

Morrow is not that kind of guy.
Remember his TSL interview after winning against Jinro saying " zvp is imbalanced, get over it" ?
Morrow is just syaing what he think at the moment, but without a lot of exclamation. ( he's swedish after all :p )

coL never dominated anything, they had one decent event.

Very nice interview, morrow aways seem to have well thought out answers and is quite honest when it comes to balance and such. Always nice to hear from him

wut. fnatic and lions are far from 3 and 4, I wouldn't put SK at 2 yet either.

And Morrow is pretty much the only good foreign Zerg not living in Korea (besides Idra) so I hope he continues to improve.

Sen? The Chinese zergs?

7. You were very active within the BW-scene before you started playing SC2. Do you miss BW and do you still play it from time to time? /Klon

I miss it every day I think of it. I don't play it any longer but sometimes I watch some BW vods. But I'm happy SC2 is starting to look like BW more and more.

It made me kind of sad to read this. Same with hearing the tone of the players voices in TL Attack when they play SC2BW.

I didn't even play the game competitively and I miss it occasionally...I don't think SC2 players are worse, or the game is worse etc. etc.

I just miss the beauty of it all.

edit: I can't imagine what it would be like for a pro-level player...sigh.

yep, it's always a blast to play sc2bw, though one thing i DONT miss from bw is the crappy pathing, MBS, and the 12 unit selection limit. yep, my macro was an issue in BW.

always feels good to have zealots and storms and reavers ripping through everything, compared to their less awesome counterparts in sc2.

Morrow is one of the better macro players out there imo. I think he will have even more success after Heart of The Swarm because I can only assume they're going to push the game further in that direction.
