LOL! I did not get it until you pointed it out! xD
Pretty funny!

I take no credit for the creation of the pun, which I got off of a random Reddit comment.

Nevertheless, I absolutely ADORE using it whenever I can. Like Grack jokes, it can never get old.

Tasteles, Artosis, Day[9] in MLG would be by far the best MLG ever (no matter the game play! )
And if Husky also comes that would just be amazing

Nice interview overall.

Q: MLG and GSL are very different events but both aspire to high standards of production and quality. What do you think MLG can learn from GSL and what do you think GSL can learn from MLG?

I would have loved it if there would have been an in depth answer to this question. I'm very interested to see how both leagues will learn from and interact with each other and what the visions of both organizations are in this regard aside from the schedule coordination (which in my opinion is a very good first step towards a more coordinated and clear SC2 calendar with regards to the big professional leagues).

That is pretty lame mate.
Can I ask you something? Why are you even in this website dude?
When you watch a stream, it is mostly because of the game and barely because of the caster. If you do not like them, then just simply mute the stream and enjoy!

Wow MLG really knows how to rope in the crowds. This will really increase the number of online tickets sold. Additionally, I think MLG decided after dallas that "if you don't know how to properly run an online stream yourself, ask someone who does." I have never seen the GSL have the problems that MLG had at Dallas and prehaps this is there way of preventing that disaster from happening again.

Also bringing over the great players is definatly a plus. Will be looking foward to seeing Bomber, Losira, MMA and Moon at that tourney. Its strange that as good as they are, I'm not exactly sure they will dominate the tourney.

We will see if this exchange system works out well for international players. I'm surprised to see that the GSL is giving up a coveted code s ranking and a couple code a seats for MLG.

Good Article and I look forward to seeing how this develops

I'm not one to make excuses in life, but a lot of the problems we encountered in Dallas were unfortunately out of our control. With the new partnership I view it more as 'making it within our control' than 'finding someone that knows what they're doing'. Dallas was the 2nd time in nearly 10 years of streaming (60+ events) that we have had the internet fail locally. Sadly it was at a time when the most eyeballs were on us.

Was there any way that you could have tested it before the competition began at Dallas?

Without getting into the minutia, yes. We test it constantly starting on tuesday before the weekend, and monitor it through out the event. It happened inside the venue walls before we got to the public internet, but the reality is, for live stream delivery over the internet, you're always at the mercy of the public internet.

Hence, the changes we're going to be announcing shortly.

Aaaaand while I'm here. Few shout outs to folks I forgot:

@Singlecoil (aka Marc Turner) who directs and produces the Starcraft 2 streams.
@genexp (aka Brian Corrigan) and the rest of the @agoragames team who have been upgrading all our web infrastructure to exceed the demands.
@itmejp who needs no introduction to this community.

I am delighted to see that GSL and MLG cooperation in promoting E-sport globally, a huge win for all sc2 players.
I expect more great things to come from this newly form partnership.

The exchange is just heavily favored for koreans as stated previously, we get a chance to compete in code A while they get seeded into the championship pool.. thats literally like day and night.

I believe a vast majority of the foreigners will decline any code A invitation because they have nothing to gain being in korea competing for a small prize VS missing all the big foreign tournaments and leagues that are going on right now and will continue throughout the year.

First of all, exactly which big foreign tournaments are you talking about which are offline and can't be played in Korea, but are also accessible to every foreigner? I honestly can't think of any in the US/EU that will be taking place during the next GSL season (Dreamhack occurs right after the next one). Everyone keeps talking about these "big" foreign tournaments that will be happening like growing apples on a tree - a huge majority of these tournaments are online - and the ones that aren't are local tournaments in specific countries, like Copenhagen or The Gathering. Tell me, did any of the NA's or even Eastern Euros go to those? People keep dropping that catchphrase (big foreign tournaments), but honestly, the truth is that significant offline LAN events are actually quite rare.

I also refer you to this. Arguably the biggest prize pool for an offline event I've ever seen outside of the internationally renowned ones like Dreamhack or IEM that occur only several times a year.

If your case is that it's the online tournaments that won't be played efficiently due to lag, that's a separate issue, but I don't see that as being a big problem, especially if the player can't qualify for Code S (I think others have stated that it will take less than two weeks, maybe even one week, to know if one can cut it or not). If the player does qualify, that alone will be more than worth it.

IPL does not allow anyone in Korea to play.

Blizzard really needs to find a way to get lag free cross region play. Everyone should bug them for that until they do

The Super Tournament ends 6-18, and the IPL (qualifiers are in May) starts 07-14. I'm not sure when the next Code A/S season will start, so I suppose that's the only issue right now.
