"Mediate" implies there was a conflict. Everyone at MLG loves GSL and I think that sentiment is reciprocated. The eSports team at Blizzard helped make introductions at a senior level between the two organizations. Those guys do a lot behind the scenes that they don't get enough credit for (and are probably going to give me shit for calling them out).

Hope everyone is as excited about this collaboration as we all are.

Code S status will be awarded to the highest placing player, regardless of country of origin, who doesn't already have Code S status.

Now that is insane, MLG-s from now on will be so stacked on players it won't even be funny :D.

Hopefully they fix the stream/organisation problems and live up to expectations put on them by Blizzard and Gom.

Great, great news. Note that placing well at MLG now means you can earn a spot for an all expense paid trip to compete at GSL in Korea for a MONTH.

This is some of the greatest news the SC2 scene has had for a while.

MLG being enough to earn Code A spots is amazing enough, but a Code S spot for the winner? That's actually a pretty major change to the entire GSL Code S format (since there'll be one less spot for up-and-downs), so they're taking this pretty seriously.

Stuff like this just makes the competition go up and up!

This is great news, as I was really worried with lack of sponsors that we wouldn't see many Koreans come to MLG. Since it would cost more to come over than winning the tournament.

Man, this is so ridiculously amazing. I'm so happy to see this partnership between two huge leagues. It looks like GOMtv is really staying true to their statement about trying to create a truly global esports (SC2) league. Since they can't conceivably create one in the west, this is definitely a great way to do it. It's so great that both leagues are going to be paying for the chance for the players compete in the other league.

I think the players are the clear winners regarding this news and that is always good news for esports.
