This is so good for the scene of both foreigners and koreans. On the contrary... not good for NASL..

Maybe someone Code S already told Gom they will not be a part of it due to whatever reason and GOM has not told us. Or this seeding will not be for the next GSL tournament but the one after. Also the winner of the swedish tournament also gets into next Code A. Next GSL will be packed with foreigners again :D

i do think though that it would be better if two of the korean MLG spots would be reserved for the code S and A champions and then have two free invites.

Most foreigners probably agree that GSL code S is the most prestigeous tournament to win right now. The downside with GSL is that it´s such a big time investment and you need to place really high to make it worthwhile.

They have all been in Code-S other than Naniwa (IdrA, HuK and Jinro respectively), and after Naniwa's run in the TSL and going undefeated through the open bracket to win MLG, it's hard to say he isn't at least deserving of a chance to throw down in Code-S also. edit; I don't expect the MLG winning incumbent in Code-S to be a slouch. The thing with Code S is that it's 32 players around 25-30 of which are top drawer, top 10 at their race in the world players. So even if you're good like Naniwa is, it's really easy to get crushed in Code S and find yourself in up and down looking like a chobo as MVP, San, Jinro, MC, Nestea, MKP and other quite clearly phenomenal players have done. Winning Code S is extremely difficult as there's so little room for error. Look at Jinro, his only crime was losing to Nestea twice and he went to up and down. That's how unforgiving the format is. MLG has some great players but a lot of not so great, and it's double elimination. There's a big leap in the consistancy of talent between the two tournaments, so predicting anyone to win or reach the latter stages of Code S is really unpredictable, foreigner or Korean. On the other hand, I think this will work out itself in the long run. Just how MLG inherently functions with its point system. To be precise, we should wait at least for MLG and GSL to publish their format readjustments. You have to consider that with additional KR contenders and rising skill level in general, winning MLG will become harder with every passing event. In fact, MLG does act as a second path into Code S for both, foreign and korean players. The most promising outlook for the future would be kind of a "tour" including most prestigious tourneys all over the world.

Also: http://www.gomtv.net/2011gslsponsors3/news/65291 In addition, the winner of the recent Rakaka tournament held in Sweden will also receive GSL Code A seed and will be staying and practicing at the GOM House. I like how the various tournaments all over the world are turning into Pokemon Gyms for Code A/S spots, with the GSL setting itself up as the Pokemon League. MLG should make a badge, as should Rakaka (?). Gotta win 'em all. But seriously, this is awesome.

GSL's current format doesn't support such manipulations. Same with Code A. What happens if one of the foreign winners doesn't want to go to Korea? Does the next best finisher inherit the ticket to Korea, or does it expire?
