If I consider the caliber of the top5 players by country and speculate on how well they would do in CodeS/CodeA/CodeB I get this tier list :

Code S
01. Korea - for obvious reasons, + Flash, Jaedong and Bisu may switch to SC2 on day. Scary!

-----------------

Code A
02. Sweden (NaNiwa, SaSe, ThorZaIN, SjoW, MorroW)
03. Ukraine (White-Ra, Kas, Strelok, Dimaga, Bly)
04. China (LoveCD, MacSed, Loner, XiGua, F91)

-----------------
Code B
05. Poland (MaNa, SLiDeR, Tarson, DieStar, Nerchio)
05. Canada (HuK, TT1, KiWiKaKi, Drewbie, SLush)
05. Russia (TitaN, Pomi, Brat_OK, Happy, LiveZerg)

08. USA (Gatored, qxc, TriMaster, IdrA, Sheth)
08. France (ToD, Adelscott, SarenS, Stephano, MoMaN)
08. Germany (HasuObs, Socke, GoOdy, TLO, DarKFoRcE)

11. Finland (elfi, Welmu, Naama, Satiini,??????)

Taiwan, Australia, Netherlands somewhere in code B too.

-----------------

The way I see this list is that countries in a Tier can compete against a country within their Tier.
China may be way higher in the list, not sure at all of their ranking.

My 2 cents on the topic

I think Sweden wins hands down. I also disagree that Germany is up there. I mean, they are good and all, but have no real star lineup; no one who actually wins a lot of huge shit. I'm extremely biased but I still think that Poland is quite good at SC2!

You are right QNdie, statistically Poland is ahead of Germany. Poland is at 7th while Germany is at 10th. Take a look at the ranking I posted above.

The information is on the "Other Stats" tab on the bottom of the page on the country rank.

I wish some day a Brazilian player appears among the top players. I mean, in any list of top players, top 100, top 1000... For now we are pretty much out of the map.

Adelscott, Stephano, Moman, Song, Sarens would make quite an ace team...

EDIT : I think Sweden is first, but that France is underrated. We could add Carn, Soju, and Aures.

I agree, I am kind of surprised a few people said US before France. Maybe some people actually believe the joke that stephano is from the US =)

Preach. I don't think it is close actually. A gap to Ukraine and then a big one to the rest. That is assuming Strelok has been stepping up lately.

Agreed, although it's hard to say just exactly how good China is, given how little the outside world seemingly knows about their top players, so they might have a place among the top countries as well.

It's 'determined' around how good the actual players are and the tournament results, including a few other things.
Looking at a newly opened GM is not the way to do it, especially when all the top players arn't on the same server.

Sweden most likely, after them Ukraine probably. While the US has a TON of players, Idra is the only one who really stands out .

Yeah. Something I've noticed is some people on TL like putting their nationality as somewhere they don't actually live for their own reasons lol, typically where they were born or something similar.

I'm going to pick just 2, so it doesn't get out of control.

Sweden and Canada.

I think you guys are getting out of topic. *Non-Korean Nation.

I'm sorry, but you can't group players like that and say they have similar skill. I hate seeing talk about this topic among the community, everyone is so damn bias toward their own continent. Idra, Huk, Thorzain and Naniwa are our top tier foreigners which have put up results. Everyone else is just spectulation; unless they win something, stop talking about "how damn good they are".

Bly Code A level? I'd say more than half the players you listed on Code B level are better than him^^ Bly is good obviously, but still come on..
