I'm talking strictly about SC2 and I agree that it can be like regular sports, it'll just take a lot longer than it did in korea.

Anyone with half a brain can understand were Alex and EG are coming from and how these type of leaks and spoilers are hurting esports, but all anyone cares about is stirring shit and piling it up on EG, idra, incontrol, alex and djwheat. TB also spelled it out just as well as alex, yet no one is shitting on him about what is going on. I hope everyone will enjoy a SC2 scene in 4 or 5 years with no foreigner teams, because at this rate the SC2 community will have destroyed its self by then.

I think the important thing to note is that if you're sensitive skin has been rubbed the wrong way by EG, at least focus on what TB, and Jason Lake have said. Their deliver, while much more reasonable and practical, basically echo EG's point.

Whilst Slasher was perhaps a little short sighted leaking this info, 99% of the blame definitely lies with EG TL for not chuffing keeping that information so locked down that nobody else has the CHANCE to leak it first. Trying to place the blame at someone elses door makes them just look bad, to be honest. If this information was literally money to them, they should have had it locked in one of those damn Da Vinci Code codex things inside a 5ft thick safe, not just floating around for people to leak to journo's. Christ. When there are 5 different teams involved in a deal for a player, how do you expect EG to keep all of them silent? You think EG management or players are the ones running off and telling people? There are so many more people in the equation that EG can't control.

@Slasher: As I did as poor job yesterday, I will address major points brought forth by many individuals. It will be short. Fixed mic. Holy hell i hope the mic is actually fixed! :D

People are way to intrested in jumping up and down on EG and Alex, but there are valid points to be made on their side. I wish people would spend less time picking the specific sentence they want to argue against during the show and focus on the other team's views on the subject.

Which 5 teams were involved, and who in those teams knew about this? That's the kind of shit EG need to know. Information like this is their revenue source, so they need to have tighter control over it. Otherwise you can't really moan about what happens after. If your sink has a leak, you don't blame the floor for getting wet - you find the leak and plug it. Someone, somewhere should definitely be getting their ass kicked for this, but I'm not sure it should be Slasher.

I can understand where EG comes from, I also can understand where slasher comes from. and I'm pretty sure the majority of the people here can; I let you in on a secret: people have different oppinions on topics (shocking, I know), and when people care about something enough they will voice their different oppinions. It will lead to discussion, arguing, even fights (call it drama, I don't care) and I do believe this is the heart and soul of a community, because it will lead eventually to something. When people stop caring, when they stop arguing, and the forums are empty than you can start worrying, and more importantly where will you go with your messages of the forthcoming doom of the community, where will you call people morons... but I guess in 4 or 5 years we will see

A solution to the problem is if the teams works together to make sure no one spill the beans. Because its is in all the teams intrest. Still, the responsability lies within the teams, not at the journalism. I'm not saying i agreed on the decision in this case. But the equation is pretty simpl to me: Journalist = Reports Teams = Look after their house and protect it.

Honestly I think Wheat handled it as well as he could have given how volatile of a situation it was. The problem is both sides said alot but didnt always say the right things to articulate their part. Honestly the worst thing was Slasher saying he didnt care about the exclusive interview. That IMO was the dumbest thing said. If youre trying to act as a legitimate source of information and give good articles why in fucking hell would you ever pass up an exclusive interview? I'm not a huge fan of either side by anymeans but to me it seemed like Garfield tried to play ball abet poorly and Slasher gave him a big fuck you. I feel like I remember Wheat saying something like "Goddamnit, Slasher, I agree with you so shut up and let me agree."

I don't think he is wrong that there a good number of people in these threads that are only posting to crap on EG and Alex, and don't really care about the subject. A lot of the people who care are not posting in this thread because. My girlfriend hates the Esports drama and just likes watching games. The same with my friends who watch LoL and SC2. R/starcraft is a trash pile at all times. I haven't gone there in over a year.

Go look at all of the most upvoted comments on reddit, all they are doing is shitting on EG because its the "cool" thing to do. Thinks like "fuck EG" and "im tired of incontrols biased opinion" and "EGwheat just spouts what EG tells them to". People are just so ignorant and uneducated as to the real world and whats going on.

You make a valid point but you're also just adding to the drama. I've read quite a few reasonable posts who criticise Alex and EG. You're overreacting; Particularly about the self destruction. It would be nice if both people in the community including team bosses and just people in general could control their emotions a little better. Or in other words: Think before they speak. Alex clearly didn't do that yesterday while TB clearly did.
