SotG seems to be serious game discussion now and ITG is fluffy drama stuff with call ins. Both formats have space to succeed in SC2.

So he wants to end the show for good just because people didn't like how he reacted?

I don't think it was ever brought up about ending the show. Some idiots could be saying that because DJ Wheat made a joke at the start of the show saying that they were going to cancel the show because of all the "SCII is dead, The end is nigh!" stuff." Other than that don't see anywhere of him saying he wants to cancel the show.

3h Aaron @arnams @djWHEAT @KingsOfTin mlg?
3h djWHEAT @djWHEAT @arnams not because of MLG
3h T.Bengtsson @Tobblish @djWHEAT Nice, no more drama for this week then.

So basically djwheat the host of his own show invites a person KNOWING they will say there point of view and rather then moderate and be "professional" he starts laughing and have a go at him, while two guys what a coincidence that are basically living of there old names is basically saying if you dont like what is happening get the fuck out of the community and stop playing this game.
What a great mentality rather then try to do something we'll just complain and accept it and tell people gtfo typical considering they don't actually have to show results to get paid and are getting paid salary.
Also its obvious djwheat is a TWITCH employee not someone who generally cares about the sc2 scene as he said the overall revenue for streams are up and sc2 is lower.
Im pretty sure a lot of people watch sc2 and not actually play it and that will be fine to wheat cause that means general streaming revenue is up who cares if no one watches sc2 right?

I dunno. Doesn't seem like Wheat to cancel something he has put so much effort into just because of some petty bull-shit. People could be possibly reading too much into this.

well who could blame him, the shit ppl have to take when they give the community free stuff is kind of.... funny.

I honestly was pretty surprised when people got all up in arms about that episode... I mean Djwheat yells a lot, its part of his persona and I love it and I wouldn't change a thing. That episode was really annoying with Destiny as he wouldn't let anyone talk and he would just continue to talk and talk over them I was glad that they made him shut the fuck up as he wouldn't listen to any other point of view. Everything went fine in my eyes and Destiny got what he deserved really.

the last live on three was painful to watch with wheat sulking about the previous day's inside the game.
either you have a moderator for a debate or you have your screaming matches and know it for what it is. i was entertained and that's what counts right?

This is why we can't have nice things.

I doubt they're canceling both shows, but if they want to cancel both of the shows, go right fucking ahead. I'm not going to ride their nuts, truly I could give 2 shits, always the main theme is about "growing e-sports", mhm I surely agree with that, except the part where they've removed 2 weekly shows from e-sports, DAT HYPOCRISY. It's not like they're hurting anyone but their own salary or "pay raise on next contract!", so for that reason alone I sincerely believe they won't end the shows.

IdrA and InControl are from BW. PainUser has an FPS background. DJWheat basically dabbled in everything for over a decade. And every single one of them knows what it likes when E-Sports was nonexistent.
People like you want to pretend that the sky is falling and SC2 is doomed, but the scene today is still thousands of times better than 3 years ago.

what happened on ITG was just like what happened on sotg with avilo, should just take a break like sotg did as well i suppose!

The LoL reddit had a huge 900 comment post calling for him to not cast or host LoL events anymore because of what he said on the episode. That would not be petty to him.

Probably doesn't help that SRS (reddit page) was writing to sponsors about in control after his comments about destiny in a dress. Would have been a lot of negative light for EG. Someone from our own community than posted the video about horses too. :/

So they ARE living of there name from broodwars no? Lets face it incontrol isnt any better then destiny in the game As far as i know pain user was the only one trying to find a middle ground and was trying to look at both views not bashing on him he has a open mind. So yeah djwheat has dabbled and is a twitch employee working on esports so sc2 in general doesnt really matter as long as esports is good.
Guess what you know why the scene is a lot better then it was 3 years ago? because technology and access to streams has improved and its a lot easier to watch e-sports, also not saying that sc2 didnt help paive the way it sure did.
As i said im sure a lot more people watch sc2 then actually play it just because of the how the game itself is made, and guess what if you're living on the fact that people dont actually have any interaction with the game when they find a different game to watch and enjoy that you lose viewers, wouldnt affect esports in general but just sc2.
I use to watch sc2 streams all the time but im starting to watch dota 2 a lot more now would you like to chuck a idra and tell me to gtfo and stop watching sc2 and just switch to dota 2? When your "faces" and "figurehead" are telling you to gtfo and so is the community do you think that helps sc2 grow? tell me that attracts more players
Nice to call someone a idiot you close minded dumb ass

I think that was his point, they're living off of their OLD names. The names they established prior to sc2. incontrol would be just another masters/gm player on the NA ladder and IdrA would be that guy who was good when nobody had build orders and timings figured out. Taking away their brood war names, practically takes away everything. They still act like they run Starcraft 2 though, it's an EG mentality.
Geoff and Greg high fiving each other after dissing Destiny is really what put the nail in the coffin for me, it show's just how immature they really are. Also, telling someone to suck it up and deal with a shitty UI, Game, etc. is silly.
I'm not here to say Destiny acted respectfully or professionally but these guys are hosts of the show, if maturity should come from anywhere, it should be from them. Instead, they taunted him and mocked him - proceeded to call him and continued to mock and disrespect him. What kind of reaction did anyone honestly expect? I would have been pissed off too, they had no reason to go that route on a great topic of discussion.
wheat of all people should have moderated the discussion, but instead he joined the flamewar with the fratboys and it spiraled out of control. Painuser was the only one on that show with a decent approach and input.

I'll be really bummed if this show goes away.
|
I will miss them both if this is true. I hope they are still on. I want to watch ITG, LO3, and SOTG every week!!

Another ridiculous overreaction from the SC community, perhaps another person deciding it's not worth dealing with their bullshit.
Yay for hypersensitivity.
