Nice to hear Korea's side. I honestly think that the showmatch was win-win. The Koreans held on to their pride, but the forgeigners proved that they're formidable. Like Artosis said, it was a victory for non-Koreans to do so well.

I picked out some interview highlights for you:

JulyZerg, the God of War, said:

I was surprised, but I had confidence in myself. I did not expect to do 4 kills though. I think i was lucky.

I wanted to show entertaining games, but i don't think they were all that entertaining. I did not want to lose. Even though 'fun games' are important, I thought winning was more important. So, i played seriously. I considered winning is 'fun' to watch.

I do not believe Koreans showed 100% of their games yesterday and today. Only i showed 100%. I also believe foreigners did not show 100% of their talent as well.

Anyway, I was out there as a representive of Korean players, so i played full strength. It was actually a good way to get ready for tomorrow. I will practice hard and win tomorrow.
If it were not so, I would have told you.

Thank you a lot for these translations.
+1 Internet for you.

July is such a pro. Out of all Koreans I am rooting for him the most now, I hope he does well in NASL.

I had a good night of sleep.

Was anyone else waiting for the diet question? I think its a bit funny that they asked MC about his weight and he isn't even fat. Not that July is huge of course, hes just a little chubby.

Also, its nice to see the koreans discussing foreigners.

Awesome interview, thanks! Seems like July really respects Dimaga especially! What a fun event this was, "not trying" or not, it was super enjoyable!

I agree with his remark about T and P being very similar races, especially when compared to Zerg. Looking forward to see more of July.

That's why July is the greatest.

The Koreans don't really shy away from awarding heavy nicknames. You got the Hero Toss, the Genius Terran, the Ultimate Weapon, the Tyrant, the Emperor, etc. etc. It's just a thing—adds a little drama, a little grandiosity.

As for why JulyZerg has that particular nickname, it’s because ever since his earliest SC:BW days he has been a hyperaggressive, ballsy, go-for-the-throat player. And he posted pretty dominant results at different points in his career (best ZvPer ever). So basically the “God of War” moniker is a nod to the great success he enjoyed playing an attack, attack, attack style.
If it were not so, I would have told you.

Thanks for translation!

Nice interview and really nice to see how he speaks of non-koreans.

And for the haters, I think everyone wanted to win, but they played their safe basic strategies because they wanted to keep whatever special they had planned for the individual matches.

no no, it was the 16 second delay because the internet on the Korean side of the building is rerouted through Kenia.

All kidding aside, I really enjoyed these games. It was really fun to watch my foreigner hero's being boss against the Koreans. But of course July is the biggest boss of them all :D
One regret remains, which is that I'll never know the outcome of the first Dimaga-MVP match (thanks Bnet) which had the potential to show how strong Zerg tech switches can be. Does Blizzard provide GSL with some specially modified clients? The UI dissappeared a few times when big battles came up, which I have never seen before.

Stop being so bitter. July said that he thought neither team was trying their best, except for July himself.
