No need to deal with trolls that don't even read interviews.

Can you read? he said he felt that everyone did not play up to their potential, not JUST the koreans.

Jesus, the bias is rediculous.

Honestly, some people here have too much of a chip on their shoulders about the "Koreans didn't try" thing. July said right there that he definitely tried his best. He also said that he felt his teammates were not trying their bests, but he also admitted that the foreigners seemed like they weren't trying their hardest either.

It was a friggin' showmatch, and it's likely that neither side truly gave 100% since there's an actual tournament with money on the line directly after the showmatch. People need to stop trying to look at these games as ways to gauge Koreans vs. Foreigners because it inevitably results in lots of bitterness and sarcasm when they're faced with the reality that players simply treat the showmatch as such - a showmatch - and don't take it 100% seriously.

With that said, that that was an awesome interview by July, fun read that made be a bigger fan. Thanks for posting and translating it (you did a great job translating for it being your first time)

^ Spot on imo.

Also, strikes me as quite coincidential that every player from both teams just managed to play at least 1 game (not to mention the MVP disconnect - which sucked donkey balls, as it was an epic match).

Not sure if it might have gone lost in translation (awesome jobs nonetheless tho, cheers for that), but it seems July somehow said he was "better than the foreigners" without being cocky, and being (somehow) polite about it... <3 July

Everything's simple, if you know what you're doing.

in bw i saw july as this scary guy that i would never approach. in sc2 he seems like a pillsbury doughboy that bounces around after he wins a match and slaps 5's with all of his teammates. it's really a different atmosphere in these gom leagues than in proleague

I agree and I like it. It seems a lot more fan friendly. That's probably the wrong word to describe it but it's just feels more.... friendly I guess. Don't really know how to desribe it but I kinda like the atmosphere.

I do not believe Koreans showed 100% of their games yesterday and today. Only i showed 100%. I also believe foreigners did not show 100% of their talent as well.

People need to learn to read. Also, big props to July for getting serious - the guy (even though I don't enjoy his playstyle) is a true champion.

Thank you for the translation. I really like to hear what the Korean players think, especially now that they are playing a lot of foreigners. Again, thank you!

It was a good thing July took this 100 % seriously , because MVP and Nestea could have struggled if a potential 5 top foreigners were left against them . Saving the korean pride .

July was very reasonable IMO. He didn't say the Koreans didn't try, just that he thought they didn't show all that they're capable of. He even said the same thing about the foreigners.. how can you get mad over this? That's more way reasonable than a lot of posters here have been about the TSL and GOM world championship results.

thanks for rehosting the photo Antoine.

i want to say, as a Korean American
i was cheering for World-Allstar.

I really want 'even skill level' between Korean progamers and non-Korean progamers. If there is big skill gap between Korean progamers and non-Korean progamers, it would kill international competitive scene. I believe viewers of MLG, IEM, Dreamhack, NASL will be far less if there's a skill gap between Korean progamers and non-Korean progamers as people won't be able to watch them all. Also, in comparison World Cup would not be big as it is now if Brazil won World Cup decades after decades in a row. Since it is so obvious of outcome, would not be entertaining.

Thus, as stated, for e-Sport to grow in international level, non-Korean progamers needs to be even skill level as Korean progamers. This will attract more people to watch around the world.

Honestly, so many of us went through rollercoaster ride as players won and lost yesterday. If it was 8-1 or 8-0, it would have been far less entertaining.

Because of this, I was cheering for Dimaga and Nestea as they went to final game. (note i was cheering for Nestea not because i am Korean American, but because i am fan boy of Nestea )
