On the contrary of every other teams, they got a super player for each races. Ogs doesnt have a Star Zerg., neither does SlayerS or Prime. The only team that is as solid in every races is IM. They`re a Zerg factory these guys! But maybe, they dont have a Star Protoss, even if Yonghwa and Seed could just do that. They`re still not as good as Ace or Squirtle.

On a more serious note, I am not sure if anyone other than ST/IM can actually win this. With their all star line ups and Nobodies who just seem to win(Ref squirtle and Seed last Team League) I am not sure if anyone else can put up enough good players, do not forget ST has bomber who everyone seemed to be scared of last GSTL.

RO8 IM - ZeNex I think more than any other match in this first round, IM over ZeNex is a no-brainer. It goes without saying that a team with two GSL champions is quite strong, and both are often hailed as the best player from their respective races. Beyond that, more recent performance has shown IM to have more depth than I would have thought a couple months ago, as Losira this season is far exceeding my own expectations, and lesser seen players like Seed and Yonghwa have shown that IM has some Protoss presence too, in previous team leagues. ZeNex, sadly, just can't compete. As one of the weaker teams in the league whose only real 'star' player is Byun, backed up by mediocre names like Kyrix, Jjun and Puzzle, they weren't going to be winning this tournament regardless. As it stands, an unfortunate first round match should see them going out on the first day. TSL - fOu This one seems a little bit closer, at least. TSL is one of the most well liked teams, I'd say, and it's no real surprise. Their roster reads like Starcraft 2's greatest hits, almost all well known, accomplished players. Having said that, though, it's hard to say how strong any of them really look. Though the champion Fruitdealer is always a threat, his recent play has not been inspiring; once again we find him in the up/down matches. There you'll also see Rain and SangHo, who battled their way up to the Ro8 in Code A, though got no farther. Clide and Tester will hang around Code S for another season at least, though their runs both ended in the Ro16. Meanwhile aLive manages to barely hang on to a Code A spot; Revival does not. Don't get me wrong, though. These results are not bad. These are all very competent players. However it's hard to point at any of them right now and say, "That guy's at the top of the top. That guy's scary." In the long term, someone from TSL is going to have to establish themselves as a legitimate ace, if they want to remain among the top teams. Fortunately for The SCV Life, though, they got an easy first round opponent. Being matched up against team fOu, who I picked to be the weakest last season, and who aren't looking much better this season, means that this is TSL's game to lose. Don't get me wrong though, it could happen. Though far from having an All-Star line-up, sC and Leenock made strong showings this season, so if they bring their A game, and TSL doesn't, an upset is still possible here. oGs - SlayerS My heart wants me to pick SlayerS here. To be frank, no matter how much you may like oGs, anyone who's rooting against The Emperor is just an objectively bad person. >< Needless to say, I'm pulling for SlayerS. Having said that, I don't see it happening. To be fair, they're starting to look more and more like a legitimate team as these seasons progress, and I don't think they're at the bottom of the barrel anymore. Though they had bad luck in Code A, I do think players like Jjob and YuGiOh are solid, and fully capable of scoring wins in this match up. Alicia just got done with a rather strong run through Code A himself, and looks to be able to compete at a high level. And Boxer himself, of course, though he may not be the dominant player he was years ago, is still able to win, in my eyes. They're certainly not top-tier by any means, but they're starting to look like a real team. Sadly, they've come up against THE team. oGs, as far as I'm concerned, has been and continues to be one of the deepest teams in Starcraft 2. A fan favourite for good reason, the oGs roster is chock full of not only popular but solid players. A short list of their most notable players includes Cezanne, Ensnare, MC, Nada, SuperNoVa, TOP and Zenio. There are plenty of others. oGs underperformed severely last GSTL, but I still see them among the favourites to take this one. It's hard to say whether they'll make it to the finals or not, but they'll get through this match, I'm sure. Still, I expect SlayerS to put up a decent fight, and make this worth watching. ST - Prime I never know what to think of Prime. Sure, MarineKing is among the best, but other than that? I would have told you not too long ago that players like Anypro, Check and HongUn would not win a game in Code S, but they all made me look silly. Hell, Anypro of all people is in the semi finals right now. It's been a weird month for Prime in general, though, as players that once looked more reliable like Maka and Loner both got knocked out of Code A, Polt failed to get anywhere in Code S(okay, that one is not surprising), and even MK of all people underperformed. They have a decent sized list of notable players, but it's hard for me to say how good they all are. Most of them just don't seem all that reliable to me. I don't know. Last season, Prime seemed like a middle-of-the-pack team. I think that still holds true. We'll see, I guess. Startale, at least, I know what to think of. They're strong. They have plenty of solid players, and in a match like this, I think that's going to be what counts. Sure, ST HAS had a bit of a rough season in the individual leagues, mind you. Ace and Squirtle were favourites in Code A going in, but both fell in the third round, and veteran Rainbow is liable to lose his Code S position in the up/down matches soon enough. August will hang on to Code A, at least, and Virus has gotten into the up/down, and the biggest victory for ST is surely that JulyZerg himself seems a favourite(not that being the favourite seems to mean much lately) to make it to this season's Code S finals, though most may not be picking him to win it all. And don't forget that Bomber is still in the roster, waiting for his chance to shine. On the whole, ST looks as strong as they were last season, and should take this match handily. They're a threat to win the tournament, surely. That's actually all I'm gonna do. Seems silly to predict later rounds before these have even happened. If I had to pick a winner, though... I'd got Startale. But, they're my favourite team, so, lol

I'm hoping ZeNEX upsets IM. I hope to see a Liquid player or two also. I'm also hoping some other players from OGS play. Ever since the Zotac, all we ever see is the usual suspects like Top, Ensnare, Hyperdub, and MC. I'd like to see Hero or J or Want or Carmel play, give them a chance in the booth. Ya I agree. I would like them to change things up a bit so that we can see more of the teams play against each other... it would be a lot more interesting because it would greatly increase the chances of their being an outcome, and we can have something to gauge which team is better than another. Oh well, either way the GSTL is awesome and I can't wait to see some of the players that we don't often see play again. It's nice to see the whole Code A and Code S classification dropped for these and to just see who plays for a team simply because their team feels they are deserving, not just because of results.

Even still, Staretale is full of BW pros. Prime players haven't improved a lot since beta, Maka has been playing terrible lately (much worse than Polt), Hongun and Anypro are decent, but not quite up to Squirtle/Ace's level, and Prime's lineup has seemed to just stagnate where all of the other teams are attracting up and coming players, Prime's star players have slowly started to fade and aren't being replaced by new ones. I think Prime is really going to have to work hard to defeat Staretale. Aside from Marine King, wht BW pros do Prime have? Tankboy is the only one I can think of. His BW record seems pretty good, but last we saw him his play was pretty poor.

IM > ZeNEX (This time it will be the zerg parade and kyrix won't block it. LosirA, Horror, NesTea and Junwi. May be the best zerg lineup in any sc team. Repetition of the last GSTL would be the best possible outcome for ZeNEX) TSL > fOu (fOu terrans are hardly A class. I mean it. A Startale protoss AK'd fOu with 3 terrans in it and a random player that random'd terran. Besides Leenock, there is no other way for fOu to take down any oGs > SlayerS (Won't even be close. I'd bet money on 4-0 as score. Look at slayers lineup: Boxer is worse than semi-competent in non-mirror matchups and he loses to poltprime, who is slightly above semi-competent, in his best mu. Alicia lost to oGs' new code s candidate supernova with a convincing 2-0. Other than these two, slayers consists of some unknown players that can hardly make a blast if they all play against a single guy)

MarineKing, HongUn, Anypro + Polt/Tankboy/Some-random-up-and-comer could easily give a strong fight to July, Ace, Squirtle + whoever-is-left Though one of the joys of these team leagues is seeing new and exciting players; no one really knew who Squirtle or IMSeed were prior to GSTL Feb, for example. We may see a newcomer slay the best that one or the other team has to offer!

TSL > f0u: Not much to say here, Tester and SangHo should be able to demolish f0u. Is choya still around? oGs > SlayerS: I would expect this to be a slaughter, but strange and exciting things can happen in team league play. oGs is absurdly deep, with newcomers like SuperNova looking very good, but with established names like Nada/MC also creating a fearsome lineup. SlayerSAlicia and Boxer are both innovative players, but I can't see either one taking down MC, if it even gets to that point. Prime > ST: This is a bit of an upset prediction; I think MarineKing + HongUn will be able to hold their team together against July+Ace+Squirtle. I'm still skeptical of July's ZvP after his Ro32 games against oGsMC Prediction To Win It All: IM or oGs: Both teams have absurdly deep benches. If pressed, I'd say IM because I can't see any team knocking down MVP and Nestea back-to-back.

fou>TSL: Somehow the 2 weakest teams draw each other in the first round. TSL has the bigger names but almost all of them have been disappointments. oGs>slayers: oGs isn't as strong as we thought they were, and slayers got better more quickly than people expected, but oGs is still the better team. ST>prime: Startale is absolutely stacked. Prime has MKP and that's it. IM>fou: Nestea and MVP might not even play oGs>ST: Calling it now. MC follows up his GSL championship by pulling a RAK against ST IM>oGs: IM actually has to use Nestea this time after MC beats MVP. Nestea beats MC to clinch the championship for IM once again.

![]() I reckon fOu could come through, so expecting IM, fOu, oGs and ST in the Semis, unless the Prime hotshots manage to cinch the win off of ST. SlayerS are pretty unlikely to cause an upset unfortunately, seeing as they don't seem to have enough top class players to do more than take a win or two off oGs.

IM > TSL; oGs < StarTale then... ST wins this time. Also hope that oGs decide to use the TL players would be really cool. SlayerS also have improved with player base and stuff so they may or may not be able to do it. Teamkills: maybe we see them maybe we dont, TSL might be able to pull it off on fOu if they on A game. Reverse Teamkill: What we never yet see. The really crazy feat that would be so awesome if someone pulls it off.

Already been covered in last GSTL. Liquid is an own team, with too few high ranked players to compete in the GSTL. I hope to God that HuK and Haypro gets into code S, so that once they get a couple of more players there, we'll have enough points to compete ![]() It's a dream ofcourse, as I don't think Liquid is planning on adding on more players to the team, but it would be pretty f*cking awesome none the less.

I think the left side of the bracket may be a little bit more lopsided tbh, the right side I feel is definitely more balanced. I mean TSL has got some big names but none of them have performed up to that level, and fOu is pretty well rounded as well but no big names there at the moment, but IM is just too good I think. I think from the right side it could either come to ST or oGs there, but I'd put my money on ST once again on that side. ST vs IM finals again is my prediction should be interesting.

ST will crush Prime. . ....Im will Crush TSL and SLayers will lose to ST and the final will be ST vS IM again, this time, Bomber, Ace and July will destroy them!!! StarTale Fighting!!!! do you know who MC is? I actually dont, I'm entirely oblivious about the world of SC2.I'm going back to my underground lair where i'll plot my ascendancy as the leader of the world. Of course i know him, but i believe that SlayerS will cause an upset...they're a good team.Every sports event has got upsets. you take out Mc and oGs still has got 7 other code S players to choose from: nada top inca ensnare zenio thewind and supernova.

I am not cool enough to have a good prize but I'm thinking maybe the winner can trumpet their victory in their choice of their or my signature until next season. Unless you're one of the million people that chose IM, TSL, oGs, Startale, IM, Startale, IM. In which case you win nothing.

![]() Here's mine: IM > ZeNEX; fOu < TSL; oGs > SlayerS; Prime.WE < StarTale IM > TSL; oGs > StarTale IM > oGs It feels to me IM has a lot more depth, but I could be wrong. MVP and Nestea are still extremely good. Also, we might see an upset of Prime vs StarTale, seeing how Prime has been practicing like crazy. PuMa anyone? P.S. : Antoine, I'm sorry, but Tasteless called it, IMSeed.

IM > ZeNex - IM has friggin' NesTea and MVP. MVP's slumping though, so I'm not sure how well he'll perform. Still, IM also has great players like LosirA, Seed, and Yonghwa, while ZeNex has Byun. Unless ZeNex has some unknown gosus I don't see them beating IM. fOu < TSL - FD seems to have been slumping lately, too. However, Alive, Tester, and Clide are all very solid players, and you never know when FD will start rolling face again. Nevertheless, it'll be close since Leenock, Choya, and sC are both very solid themselves. It's really too close to call but I give the edge to TSL because I'm a TSL fanboy. oGs > SlayerS - SlayerS has M and Alicia, both who are very, very good players and boost SlayerS a ton in my eyes. Nevertheless, it's friggin' oGs, and I don't see M or Alicia beating MC. Aside from MC, however, oGs seems pretty Terran-heavy with players like SuperNova, TOP, Hyperdub, NaDa, and Ensnare, all who I think Alicia can take on. Also, oGs has Inca, TheWind, and Zenio, all who are also very solid players in their own right. SlayerS will probably put up a nice fight, but oGs simply has more better players. Prime.WE > ST - I honestly think Polt, MKP, anyPro, and HongUn are all capable of dealing with most of the higher-tier ST players. Squirtle has shown himself to be capable of great play, but his performance lately has shown that he's also pretty inconsistent. Same with Ace - sure, he won IEM, but his play against Virus looked pretty dismal. July is good, but I think MKP or even HongUn would be capable of taking him out. Bomber looked ridiculously strong last GSTL though, so I could see him pulling a clutch. Nevertheless, I give the edge to Prime.

Even if Mvp is slumping hard, IM has Nestea, Losira and a bunch of other gosus, while ZeNEX has Byun. fOu < TSL Unless Leenock can manage an all-kill there's not much chance for fOu. They just don't have any other truly impressive players. Besides, TSL has Cliiiiiiiiiiide. oGs > SlayerS It's oGs. PRIME.WE < StarTale I'd like to be wrong about this, since MKP is one of my favourite players, but StarTale crushed face last season, and with July's recent dramatic improvements they have a pretty kickass racial trio in Bomber-Squirtle-July. IM > TSL TSL is good enough to take out fOu, but they just won't cut it against a top team like IM. Fruitdealer was a one-hit wonder back when no one was very good and none of the other TSL players have really done enough to compete with the likes of Nestea or an in-shape Mvp. oGs > StarTale I'm a rabid MC fanboy. IM < oGs See above.

But, for the next team league, unless a few things happen, Team Liquid should have more points than Slayers. Here's things that will attribute to Liquid being the last place team: 1. Huk and Jinro both stay in code S. 2. Haypro is able to get back in code A and win at least one match. 3. Haypro is able to get into code S. 4. Boxer remains in code A or drops out of GSL. 5. Alicia drops down to code A. Here are things that could attribute to Slayers being the last place team: 1. Alicia remains in code S. 2. Boxer returns to code S. 3. More Slayers players get through the qualifiers and either remain in code A or advance to code S. This is mostly going to hinge on what Liquid does I think. If they perform, it's not going to matter what Slayers does unless they're able to get two or more players through the qualifiers and subsequently perform very well. If Jinro and Huk can remain code S and Haypro at least solidifies himself in code A, I think in all likelihood that Liquid will be the last place team regardless of what Boxer, Alicia, and the rest of Slayers accomplishes. I really hope they're able to do it. I definitely think that Tyler, TLO, and Ret would be up to flying to Korea for the team league since it's only four days. Only problem I could foresee is that I recall GOM requiring teams to have more players than that (seven? nine? can't quite remember), so I don't know what they'd do to fix that or if they'd be disqualified by not being able to field a large enough team, allowing Slayers to take their spot. Hopefully they'd at least let them use the players oGs doesn't place on the roster.

But they got smashed. I can see SlayerS winning this 4:1, 4:2 easily.

Exactly 1 person got the whole thing right, and he also was the only one to correctly predict the semifinal results. Congratulations to Sidian the Bard! If anybody is curious about the full results, this is the spreadsheet I used: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AsaDkdtgCXmidFYzekxSNEFFOU84VHBBcmEza01oS1E&hl=en&authkey=CPy4paMF
